Phone Notifications

Any game related discussion can take place here. Examples: Discuss about how bad the merchant rates have been lately, how rich you have became by following this specific strategy which now needs to stop etc etc

This suggestion seems to have evolved.

Per CJ's posts, this seems to be at least a partial implementation for email notifications. I know that email notifications occur as I receive them when someone sends me a PM when I'm not online. It seems that CJ intended to include hostile voodoo as an email notification at some point, but I don't know if that is implemented, nor do I believe it should.

As to the basis of the original suggestion, phone (SMS) notifications, I would disapprove.

I would like to know the extent of all email notifications that have been implement, as that may give credence to where we move this suggestion.

I would have no issue with phone notification's similar to email notifications. I don't see where that would much of an advantage over the email just more of another choice. I think this one merits further discussion.

We’ll move this to discussion for now then.

I find email notifications adequate, especially in this day and age. I think adding hostile voodoo in as a warning is far to OP against the few pirates out there. A notification on attack is enough. Let the pirates have their element of surprise, thats how ambushes occur and the victim never gets a choice. The defenders who receive an alert once attacked is more than fair on their end as well and gives them the opportunity to sign on and clear / react defensively.

I would like to see the notification frequency changed to allow players to decide on either all attacks or messages, each hour, or ever 2.
