Bermuda Daily - Issue #46: messing with France

Lets take off from the Texas all messed by Ween and lets land in old Europe, and namely in France. This country has more than one word to say in the field of music, even without mentioning operas and classical music. After Zaz in Issue #17, I'll try to list some more samples from France.

Radio Image Bermuda suggests today a little selection of a few songs, not necessarily famous and not necessarily representative of ALL the French music (which includes also different genres, like the electronic space disco of the Rockets, for instance - but I guess it could be better to dedicate them a solo Issue).

So here's the world famous Non, Je ne regrette rien by singer and actress Edith Piaf, recorded in 1960. One may think that France was old fashioned, but just nine years later the conroversial explicit Je t'aime, moi non plus appeared, by another actress/singer Jane Birkin and her partner Serge Gainsburg.
Active from the 80s, this song by the band Noir Desir is instead from 2001: Le vent nous portera, with its beautiful and almost scary video (released in collaboration with Manu Chao, the artist already mentioned in Issue #15).
Almost in the same years (a little before), but still creepy, Moi... Lolita by Alizée (I hope not to have mispelt the accent!). She was just 16 years old at that time. La France Image!

Good listening and see you tomorrow.
:)
Stay tuned on Radio Image Bermuda!
