Guild lockers - guild bank alternative

So guild banks pool guild reasources,
But could be used to pass items outside the markets,
They may be used to defraud players, a quickly closed guild would lock up reasources.
The biggest guilds with the largest banks would dominate the game forever.

I suggest this alternative that could allow guilds to share reasouces with more protections for games structure.

Guild lockers.

When a player joins a guild the get a guild locker.
When a player leaves a guild by choice or by kick the content of that locker goes with them.

You may select players that have access to certain items in your locker.

So for example you can put 5 million and some genos in your locker that your select guild mates can use to cast generosity on you or someone else.

You can put some serenities or purifies in your locker for select guild mates to cast on you or someone else.

If a player has access to your cards and money they can use it as they see fit. So trust is important here. Cards cast are cast in the name of the player casting with their fame rating.
So if they cast of your ffj on someone they are responsible not the owner of the cards.

You can put a fleet of trade ships or frigates into a locker that seleted guild mates may sail as their own while in the locker.
If the are stolen or sunk or damaged You dont get them back.
If you leave the guild with any ship in a guild mates active fleet will pause the fleet at port and the ship will return to you in a manner similar to end of auction.

If you dont trust someone dont give them acess to items in your locker.

This relies less on collectivism and is more about allowing trusted freinds to access items they may need to help you. Or to allow you to give new players access to items they may not have yet, for purposes of training.

I feel like this gives lots of options for training new players.
It gives lots of options for guild defense.
Lots of options for a coordinated group attack.
And even options for players to share ships.
While limiting possibilties of abuse or creating massive off balanced bias towards the biggest guilds.

+1.

I like it a lot. I don’t have much input for correction yet but I’ll update as I think more into it

I like it -

Just a thought or two;

I would issue all players a guild locker as a place to store things ye would share with guild mates.

#1) You must be in a guild for it to work, and
#2) Only your selected guild mates can access it (no one outside the guild).
#3) You cannot put gold coin or bars in the locker. Restrict it to voodoo. With Buried Treasure, Hidden treasure, there's a little swag. Just use banks or loans for moving gold coin.
#4) Ships can be accessed through the locker, but must be docked at Guild's dock. They will show on owner's ship list until accessed through the guild locker. How many each player can dock, I dunno - I can see CDV outfitting trade ships to every bloke and lass in his guild!

The risk here will be they are not returned...that's acceptable to my thinking.

These are just thoughts and ideas...

I really like the idea of the Guild Locker.

My though here is there would be a lot of limits to how much and what could be placed in a locker.

Its just a way to share reasources for training.
And defense.

I do like the idea of the guild bank being more of a treasury.
However it should have limits.
The purpose should also be new player assistance and defense.

Im not overly in favor of either the lockers or banks.
I think there are enough legitimate routes to accomplish anything needed.

However if they were restricted enough to not present
An advantage that allowed huge guilds to dominate,
And had enough protections for new plsyers that were not fully aware of risks, than i dont have a problem with either.

yeah that sounds pretty good. Sounds easier to implement and this won't be as easy to abuse

Guild marina is a interesting idea.

It would need a tight limit on how many ships could be put in.
And How they can be checked out.
But that might be the easiest way to share ships with players in training.

So a guild marina ship could only be place in or taken outof marina by an autorized in guild player.

Guild marina ships can not be sold or auctioned.
Unless the donating player has left the guild or been inactive for 30 days.
If you kick a player the ship get returned to them.
Like end if auction.

Think of the guild marina like a library.
Players can check out ships or entire fleets.
If not returned perhaps you could charge late fees that go to the guild treasury.
Perhaphs the guild could even rent ships to guild members.

You can build a fleet in the marina and an authorized guild mate can try it out.

So if you place a ship into the marina.
You designate ranks that can access the ship.
You can also desiginate specific player ids that can accees the ship.

Likewise if you build a fleet you can designate who can check outhe fleet.

It should cost money for the guild to build the marina and add spaces. Part if thus money goes to the game and part goes to the guild treasury.

Perhaphs the guild could rent marina fleets or ships to outside players for proffit.

I would love to see nation marinas.

I liked the guild bank model SHM suggested where guild banks function a bit like a nation treasury

Guild lockers should have limits to what quantities of voodoo could be placed in the. Card specific. Limit
Numbers should reflects needs for training or defensive casting.
If you cannot place gold in the locker a geno cast from a locker would need to draw from the casters account or the guild bank.
Turns invested and turns used would also need to come from the casters account.
If you place a hired diplomat or any other card you cannot cast on yourself in a locker it still cannot be cast on you.

it is interesting... how big is the locker? when something like a ship is used does it still take a spot?

I think Ships in locker or prefferably guild marina fill a space
Even if they are in use. If they are sunk, stolen, or reclaimed by the depositor then a space opens back up.
