Capping Credit Market Price

We are always looking for ways to improve the game. In fact, since the beginning player suggestions had played a major part in game design.

We read all suggestions.

Here is a thought...

Credit Loans.

Works just like a gc loan, except the requester gets credits and repays in gc.

I was unaware of this, but just found out that CJ did in fact already put a Cap on credit price in the market. That cap is $500,000 per credit.

Just everyone's information and for those who are against a cap of any kind. It already exists. I would just like to lower it, or go away from the CRX altogether.

Thank you to all who has debated this topic. It has been some great discussion. xD

I just dont see the logic of "---We already have that.... piracy has basically died off because of the cost of Voodoo and credits. Has that been good for the game? Pirates Glory... with no real pirates?"

Since when do you need credits and voodoo to skirmish or hit the plunder boards every day?

Pirates steal shit. Its how they lived. They didn't just skirmish to see if they could live or die. They plundered as a way of life. Again, Pirates Steal Shit.

Now, to be able to steal something in this "game", a pirate needs voodoo. You can't steal shit without it. The credit price of the voodoo needed to steal shit, makes that shit not worth it. Why would a pirate spend 30 million in gold coin and credits to only steal 20 million worth of shit? THEY WONT

Please let me know if you need me to explain further.

Spy
Pouch of Gold
3 FFJ
10-11 levis
disfavor
maybe a few Ravage

100-125 cr worth of voodoo if not more.

So the inflated price of credits ... along with the inflated cost of cards makes it not worth it.

Not only that... but the deflated prices on the ship market.

Used to be a pirate could raid a 3 SOTL fleet and come out ahead 20-50 credits depending on the att level of the SOTL.

Now everyone sails 4 SOTL and still not profitable for pirates.

But the high cost of plundering is a direct result of that plundering : traders upped their game to avoid being easy meat by adding escorts and making getting plundered a more costly and higher priced event. If certain pirates had not gone overboard plundering 'shit' then traders would probably have remained soft targets.

The wolves can not complain if the shepherd builds higher walls around the paddocks or carries an Uzi instead of a crook because they are tired of burying dead sheep.

Pirates have brought about their own problems by relying upon a formula to earn their way. Now the formula does not work because their intended victims have changed their habits to make it unworkable.

No point blaming the market for that. If the only way piracy works is to have it subsidised by the game by means of forcibly reducing the value of a credit or voodoo card then its not the game that is broken, it is pirates lacking the wit or inclination to up their game to overcome the new conditions. Adapt or die.

Monopolising and destroying the market is the traders response - not that of the pirates - is this the only way you could adapt?

Seriously.... any pirate worth his salt would not care about escorts if their intent was a ship raid. It would actually be a bonus for them.Cost maybe 10 extra credits of voodoo for a SOTL escorted trade fleet.

There are 3 main reasons pirates have disappeared.

#1 cost of credits and cards
#2 value of ships sold to market has been cut by 40%
#3 levi protect tails. best you could hope for before was 60-70% success rate on a standard cap fleet raid. guild mate Geno .... raid over, player active and adds gold.... raid over. Now with levi protect success rate of cap fleet raid is 20-25%

Don't try and speak about things you do not do or have not done yourself.

true pirates care less about escorts. Escort neutralized with a few fire ship casts

Its not about this. Its about balance. The game is SOOOOO out of balance right now. We need to balance a few things to make it an enjoyable experience for all.
