Tutorial #2: How is the winner determined in Pirates Glory? (Voted myself to rid of this tutorial.)
There are many ways to win in Pirates Glory!
Get the most fame! Earn the most Gold! Steal the most ships! Be the biggest predator in the oceans! It’s up to you on how you wish to win!
There is no one path of “beating the game.” Playing every possible game path and gaining experience in each field to expert level would be considered “beating the game” because you’ve just become one of the best players the game has ever seen!
Tutorial #3: How do I earn Fame Points?
You earn Fame by spending Gold coins, winning naval battles, and casting curses on players!
You lose fame through losing battles and through a few voodoo curses!
A few examples of manipulating Fame include:
Running trade routes - You can set a route to constantly sell cargo and buy cargo to sell at another port. Using gold coins to buy the cargo earns Fame!
Plunders and Skirmishes - Plunders and Skirmishes earn you a small amount of Fame when you win. See the Help tab at the bottom of the page for information regarding exact metrics. Wiki Coming Soon to replace the Help Page. Losing battles loses Fame.
Casting Curses - There are a few curses out in the game that manipulate your Fame! A few include, but aren’t limited to Public Relationships, Pirate Tales, and Politician Speech. Depending on the circumstances, these curses will manipulate your Fame, or your target’s Fame.
Changing your Name - Talking with the governor and changing your name will reduce your Fame. You can only change your name once every 30 days, so choose wisely!
Tutorial #4: How do I earn Gold?
You can earn Gold coins through Trading, Plundering and Skirmishing, Scrapping Vessels to Shipwright, Selling Credits, casting certain voodoo curses, digging for treasure, fishing, completing Bounties, and through odd jobs from some of the Player-base.
Curses that earn gold include, but are not limited to Politician Speech, Buried Treasure, and Hidden Treasure!
You can earn gold through various jobs that players. Some jobs include casting certain curses on players, completing a task, or from whatever they ask or offer of you. There are no specific mechanics designed for odd jobs, but existing mechanics can be used for these “odd jobs.”
A most examples of odd jobs include casting curses on players. A few cards mostly used for such examples include, but aren’t limited to Forced Labor, Military Service, Bribe, and Self Sacrifice. Some players pay for these casts, so ask around!
Tutorial #5: Top Right MENU
Doesn’t need much updating. As present is fine. However, the inbox symbol needs added, the word in the brackets for guild names needs defined, and the numbers next to your username need to be defined.
So here is what the tutorial will need added:
The word or phrase between the brackets [Guild] is a link to the current chatroom of the guild you are in. That group of letters and numbers represents the nickname of the whole name of the guild.
(inbox symbol here): This indication is your inbox. You can see your conversations, recent events, and messages here.
The numbers after the # next to your name indicates your ID number and is the same number you use to cast curses on yourself, or to indicate how to mail your in-game profile. This number cannot change like your name can.
Tutorial #6: How do I trade?
Click Headquarters on the left side of the screen. On this page, find the (add fleet indication symbol) indication under the “action” assortment and click or tap on it.
This is where you should currently be. You may need to buy more Admirals to see this screen. (Screenshot of an example interface below.)
Add ships into the fleet 1 at a time. Keep in mind you can only pick 5 ships to be into a fleet. Also check all the ships you want into the fleet are located in the same port. You may have to move the incomplete fleet to other ports if the ships are not all in the same port.
Once you have all of the ships you want into the fleet, click “New Trade Route”
A menu should come up like this picture below. If you do not have enough Merchant officers, you may be redirected to a different screen. Be sure to have enough of each officer to complete the task up to here.
(Screenshot of Trade set up screen here)
Here, you can select up to 4 different ports for the fleet to go and trade at. Fleets will not trade between two ports that produce the same material. Example being you cannot sell food to a port that produces food. You can buy as much as your warehouse and ships can hold instead.
You can store bought materials at your warehouse in the ports you trade with. The “Warehouse Store” option does this. Keep in mind this slows down the overall trading process to make gold.
You will see the Halt-on-Danger option above a list of fleets you currently have. You will want this selected if at all possible. This prevents your trade fleets from building up tons of danger. Danger allows players to attack your fleets and steal your gold.
Once your fleet route is set up, go to the bottom of the screen and click “Assign this fleet”. You will be sent to a new screen indicating the details of what the fleet’s route is done. If any errors were made, be sure to find the fleet and pause and adjust the route before it sails away.
Your fleet will not move if your ships do not have ample amount of crew sailing them. Be sure to check this in the fleet’s menu before you set sail.
From here, let the fleet bring in the gold incomes!
Tutorial #7: How do I plunder?
Click the “Plunder!” tab on the left side of the screen. Once here click Assault on a fleet. A new menu will come up showing a list of fleets able to plunder in the port you are in. Select which fleet you wish to attack with.
You can set the fleet to be remembered for attacking other targets in the port, and instead you can click “Instant”. This skips the fleet selection for attacking.
Tutorial #8: How do I Upgrade my ship?
(Fine as is currently.)
Tutorial #9: I am OUT OF GOLD!!
In some occasions, you will need to get gold to raise your gold on hand.
Some ways to do this are:
Sell fleetness ships - go to market, then ship market, then sell a ship, then view ships without fleet, and then you can sell ships not in a fleet to shipwright for 70% of each ship’s value in gold. Attribute count is not taken into account in the calculation.
Exchange turns for gold - Click on court and then work as a porter.
Ask guild-mates to help replenish your gold in the chatroom.
If you are not in a guild, you can always message other players privately. Be careful who you ask, as some players will take advantage of your situation and steal from you!
You can prevent this from happening by setting up a few trade routes to keep your gold up, or by saving your gold for back-up!
You can also sell resources in warehouses to earn a small fortune if the situation calls for it. Gold bars are a great way to store gold for emergencies!
Selling off credits are a good way to make quick gold for a situation as well! You can also pull gold from a bank account you have set up in-game.
Tutorial #10: I am OUT OF TURNS!!
You earn 1 turn every 10 minutes without spending extra credits.
You can click on the turn indication number and you will come up to another menu.
You have the option to spend 4 credits for 50 turns, 10 credits for 100 turns, and 25 turns for 200 turns. You can only purchase turns this way once per 12 hours so choose wisely!
You can also spend 5 credits to temporarily increase your manually earned turn storage to 400 for 7 days. Your max turn hold is 600 turns at all times.
You can also spend 15 credits to earn 2 turns every 10 minutes for 2 days.
You can also ask friends and guild mates to cast Self Sacrifice cards to increase your turns.
If you save up Death Poker Voodoo cards, you can spend 1 turn for a 50/50 chance of earning 5 turns.
