I am not sure how the system should work, but I think giving people the ability to spend gold to remove a bounty completely might be a good idea.

So, I am just gonna put something out.

The person who is wanted can spend 25% of the total Unclaimed Bounty gc at hand at the time to remove it completely (Paid to game), 80% of the Unclaimed Bounty will return to the person who made the bounty at the time it is removed. (Both money is lost to the game)

Approved with a 175% buyout cost

Not entirely bad. Needs some work.

Would need to be way more than 25% of Remaining Bounty to buy it off. Buy offs usually involve more money. Like 110%.

The amount returned should be nothing.

Ive seen this before in other games. The bounty buyoff is usually doubled the actual original bounty itself, no matter how much has been claimed.

Because of the nature of how bounties in the game is (No cooldown, possible easy exploit of putting high starting bounty just so people can't pay it off), I decided to put it at 25% and 20% for the other.

If everyone can just buy off their bounty at literally a fourth of the amount, then that more or less makes bounties worthless. Why should I bother putting out a bounty if the person can just buy it out for a 4th of what I set it at?

It makes no sense, neither in a gameplay or roleplay point of view to have it this way. To buy off a bounty should always be somewhat higher, never lower. I mean if a real life bounty hunter is after you for 1k dollars, and you offer him 250 to leave you alone, he'd probably look at you like your crazy, before taking you in.

I am thinking buying off a bounty goes as such as where the person putting up the bounty has the option to allowing the option to buy off the bounty. The rate of buying off the bounty is 175% of the original cost of the bounty. I say 175 for two reasons:

One: the 100% covers the bounty and this gold is lost to the game, and the other 75% goes back to whomever put up the bounty in the first place.
Two: no one profits from a buyoff.

Buyoff of a bounty is only optional when the bounty payout has not decreased from its original worth. If a contract of a bounty has been fulfilled, buyoff is no longer an option.
