Ships Market Max Auction Life

Ships Market started at 2016-01-01, almost 3 years ago.
There are some old auctions there, some belonging to inactive players. Some recycling needs to start taking place.
We suggest that all unfulfilled auctions older than 12 or 18 months, return the ship to the original owner.
This creates some issues in how to return it to them. One idea is to return them directly to their marina, if they have space there. If not, then directly to their hand.
Another idea is that instead of returning the ship, we should lock the ability for the auctioneer to adjust the price. Then start reducing the price daily by 1% (always 1 credit at least)
Price will then drop down to 0. At 0 price, the ship will delivered to first bidder (unless someone else bids for at least 1 before the auction ends).

Both of them sound fine to me.

I prefer the second option, but either is an improvement on forever storage

For the first option
I like 12 months
returns should come out just like winning an auction -
You get a market notification - you can choose the port and time of delivery
if you do not choose with in the time frame, the ship is sent to a default port.
This would make the ships of in actives available to those who were lucky enough to find them
or willing to search for them.
For the second option
for a ship listed at 1 credit would it just go back to the original seller if no one bid it up from zero.

I like the second part. I don't think returning to the player should be a viable option, once it is on the market it is to be sold. I also think that 12 or 18 months is a really long time. 6 or 9 months is better. Six months of no activity or 9 months on the market.
I also don't think certain ships types should be allowed to hit 0, specifically MOWs and SOTLs. Although I doubt they will reach that low before they are bid on.

Wish there was a way to take ships and cards from old accounts and have them auctioned off

I vote, 12 months on market and then a 1% price reduction (daily, minimum of 1 credit).
Someone will buy this ship as soon as it gets in range of fair market price.

-1 to the Voodoo, simply because one might of 'invested' real money into it, whilst the same could be argued about Ships.
I am sure you would rather come back to your voodoo stash, Phoenix then a ship in a marina.
However accounts that are flagged as 'none important' aka those who no one has heard of, it could be done.
Such as Shadowood, wouldn't say hes been heard of.

And what if instead of returning to the owner, after 12 months of uneffective auction time the ship would be sold to the shipwright? Maybe for less than 70%. Maybe 50%.
But I think that the seller should be allowed to make a ship more interesting by a Remodel or adding cargo or repairing damages to a ship on sale. Not to have the ship back, but to spend gold to make her more appealing.
If my Howker is not receiving bids on the market, I may try filling the cargo, or adding cannons, and so.

Based on the discussions above, the final details should be:
12 months on market and then a 1% price reduction (daily, minimum of 1 credit).
When next reduction would reduce this to 0 credits, instead it is sold to shipwright (the owner receives 70% of ship value at hand and the ship is removed from the game).
