Guild Cost (Small)

Postby Meliva » Sun Apr 23, 2017 5:06 am

I think something that needs to change is how guilds are created. I believe there should be some sort of cost to create a guild, for example 1 million gold coins. This is to keep new players from creating their own guilds, and eventually quitting for not understanding the game, which they could learn to do if they joined a proper guild. There are so many dead guilds already, and most newcomers who create their own guild don't last long.

I think 1 million coins is a good price, any experienced player could afford that easily, while newcomers would be unable to create one on their first day playing.

If a feature like this should be implemented, rather than a cost I'd prefer a time requirement or the 1000 used turns minimum that protects new players from other dangerous actions.
PM me any complaints (10M gold coin wire fee is mandatory).

Now that you mention it, I think a combination would be better. Can not create a guild until you have used up your newbie protection, and have enough gold to create it. I feel just a time limit or turn limit alone is not enough. Regardless I think some sort of restriction is needed.

This is a good idea to prevent 'guild' spam I will call it, however I think this should not be implmented until guilds have more features.

IE:
Guild Treasury,
Guild Setting Thread to a specific rank.

Nah. I disagree. Why wait for features that were never agreed on and have nothing to do with this?

+1 to this.

It was agreed on though, multiple times for each feature. I can find at least three threads on this.

They do have something to do with it, they are guild features like this would be.

+1 Yes yes yes!

Guilds should be run by players who have some understanding of the game dynamics.
the 1000 turn norm is a good one; personally i would add a 2 mil fame achievement to it. gold can be bought and turns are easily wasted :) but to reach a certain amount of fame is not so easily achieved. not all playstyles allow for higher fame numbers, but it could be seen as a kind of mission needed to start a guild.

+1 But it should be Credits. Turns and GC are too easy to get and overcome. Fame is too restrictive. Credits can be obtained quickly but at the cost of Real Money, and are restrictive enough to where a player who doesn't pay to play will have to play the game a little bit before they can create a guild.

Thinking more into this, I think it should be a tiered system based on Credits and Turns spent

Something like:
Less than 2000 Turns spent = 100 Credits
Between 2000 and 5000 Turns = 75 Credits
Between 5000 and 7500 Turns = 50 Credits
Between 7500 and 10000 Turns = 25 Credits
Between 10000 and 15000 Turns = 10 Credits
Between 15000 and 20000 Turns = 5 Credits
More than 20000 Turns = 1 Credit
