Dear Sirs,

Please remove my name from this proposal as what has been approved is not my proposal but another proposal loosely based on mine but still not mine.

Please rename the proposal that has been approved so questions about it get directed to its authors and not me.

Lastly, desist from critiquing me for replying to direct questions about my proposal on the grounds that I fail to defend or explain the amendments to my proposal I didnt make but which have been approved by a third party and seemingly gets my name on it as if I had approved them.

Done Per Request.

I don't agree with removing you entirely. While you are correct that parts of your suggestion have been altered for the approved baseline, a bulk of your suggestion is still the primary reference for implementing the baseline.

Just realized the first post was being updated.. didnt take the team long to take a watered down version and make it even weaker!

Perhaps they just have an overwhelming desire to reduce anything suggested? Maybe if we suggest the flagship be an ironclad steamship with 4 extra traits, ability to absorb solid shot with no damage taken and fires exploding shells that give 95% chance of immediately sinking the opposing vessel at round one, this might have the team end up back to daniks suggestion when they are done tweaking perhaps... hmm so one step further and recommend the starship Enterprise class with laser cannons and we’ll end up back to a close resemblance of The original concept of a pirate flagship by JA....

Dev Team Revision/Elaboration:
- Exclusion of Ship of the Line (SOTL) and Man of War (MoW)

Then this statement made me laugh.......
- These ships were historically uncommon.

Never ceases to amaze, was beginning to wrap my mind around the potential worth of this if it truly was to be a baseline and gain some actual worth later in the game probly 2 years once more but i was coming around.... and now they strip it further and any hope i was starting to gain is once more stripped as well..

Well done devs, well done.

This is a baseline for flagships.

This is not Pirate Flagships by JA.

There are reasons why Pirate Flagships by JA cannot be implemented as suggested. These have been explained by the author. We are not discussing it here.

If there is a reason why SOTLs and MOWs should be included, please provide the reasoning.

Please provide why theyshouldnt be?

Historically inaccurate is incorrect.

Superships? Please.... they only have one extra trait and you can only have one of them. Plus levi assault yields a decent chance to sink them regardless.

With what the dev team keeps changing or suggesting, hell you may as well just go with...

Flagship: players can name any ship their flagship.. it gains nothing but a yellow title saying its your flagship and costs 50 credits to name or change.

If there was a MoW...
and that MoW was a 60 att beast...
and that beast had all Traits, not just 3, but all of them...
This ship would still be very beatable. This I would not consider to be a super ship.

It would be very tough yes, it would be a VERY BIG TARGET and a prize for anyone. But I would not consider it to be a super ship.

I have said this in the past and will say it again. As long as Voodoo is in the game, there are no overpowered ships or fleets with current game mechanics. I single Fire Ship voodoo can turn the tides of battle.

Ship Traits was a very good and interesting game update. I have enjoyed reviewing the benefits of each trait and I have my favorites picked out. But they are far from game breaking at this time.

Voodoo is king and always will be.

I am good with most of what Danik has purposed as a starting point for Flagship.

I would have preferred JessicaA's method, but since this can't be coded I will sadly let it go.

Having said that, I agreed (when JessicaA's suggestion was going) that MoW and SOTL should be excluded from Flagship. Her (CJ's) method would have made those ships a little to strong if in a very active players possession. I was even considering running a Sloop of War and just leveling it up to be a bad ass! With this current suggestion however, with just adding 1 additional trait (2 for a pirate), I think all ships should be on the table. As I stated in my previous post, the trait alone does not make the ship overpowered.

I also agree with Feniks and others that if "Captured" the Flagship should not lose the extra trait that was given/picked. If this be a Pirate Flagship that is stolen I would say:
1. If the player not be a pirate, the pirate trait of course is not active.
2. A Pirate player may only possess 1 Flagship with the Pirate Trait active.

This would be the only trait that should not carry over. All other should stay with the ship IMO.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!
