So we have to be carebears and ruin the fun for the rest of us to cater to noobs? They have 1000 turns to get plugged in with the right folks that can help them be successful. Also the juice is going to have to be worth the squeeze. I do not think noobs are going to get targeted as readily as you think. There are plenty of rare voodoo cards that are total garbage. They are going to have to have a reasonable enough voodoo chest for them to be targeted. I think all this does to help force some action with the vets.

Perhaps garbage was a poor choice of word. "Not super desirable" would probably been far more appropriate.

I happen to disagree with you strongly there, Banger.

Every card is useful given the right 'moment'. Perhaps VUDU has not taught you that - Perhaps they have.

However, derailing the thread here. So I will stop. :D

I think this will effect newbs, but newbs are always effected.

Whenever we identify a target we look at risk versus reward. We are going to look at the voodoo of the target and say of he has a bunch of Politician Speeches, those do not sell for much on the market and I rarely ever use them so this is not a good target. Whereas if some noob happens to back into a bunch of Mindbars then perhaps he is a better target. Unless said newb is acquiring voodoo cards outside of normal accumulation, which if he is then he is already more educated than many, he will probably not become a target for a while from a pure voodoo standpoint. I really have a hard time seeing that this turns noobs into low hanging fruit. It is much easier to hit a guy like Grim that has enough fleets that you can empty his treasury and defleet him and take voodoo from a more reasonable stash then to lit up some noobie, spend a lot manually emptying his purse for a chance at a couple decent voodoo cards.

yet newbies often get a far longer period of grace than the 1000 rules. only they realize it because they see a plunder attack as been taking advantage of because they lack the big ships etc. often the first time newbs are really taken advantage of is when they have bought a few SOL's and still lack the experience needed to protect them. at what point does a newb stop to be a newb?
my main problem with complaining newbs is that they refuse to behave like newbs but want to imitate the older players while they expect to be treated like newbs. you cannot have it both ways.

this proposal has nothing to do with newbs. it has to do with guilds

You feel speaking in the tavern is reserved only for veterans lol that is funny. Complaints are merely a difference of opinion by your definition and by that same definition you now wish to apply restrictions on voicing an opinion as well. That wont happen Sotls or not. Show me the last large guild of veteran players who have lost a whole fleet often enough to call it common. You cant. So it is not aimed at guilds.

They don't lose whole fleets often enough to call it common, this is why they are vets. They know how to decrease the chances of losing their fleets.

i was not referring to the forum. i refer to newbs buying big toys beyond the scope of their experience and then being relieved from them. they are noobs in experience but want to play like the veterans. they should not complain when they're treated as such.
how many times get a newb the advice to buy an SOL or MOW? how often are they told not to do so? are the veterans really against them or are those noobs who ignore that they have to learn the game against themselves? why do you complain when they are treated in the way they see themselves?

+1 to this idea.

Sorry Dman, but I don't see how this is negative to newbies. No one is going to use this to attack newbies. If a newbie is getting plundered down this low, the question one needs to ask is why. When you look at the answer, you won't find this suggestion as the reason. No one is going to plunder a newb just to get a chance at a likely small voodoo chest. Newbs make some pretty stupid mistakes that get them blasted.

Furthermore, there are some easy work arounds.

I see the attack boards in ports I am almost certain the 71k id players are not all running sotl yet they are constantly hit I find it funny myself. I had one hit me and lose a ship I sent cash iron golems and advice. Had they hit me again I would have left the port knowing they would learn more in time. But actively hitting them is not my style and I go out of my way to make sure I do not hinder the growth of someone weaker just because I can. There are to many goals to accomplish to pin my profits, goals or anything else on them as a burden. While I am not above hitting them a couple times for a mission or for a warning I do find trying to bully them as a sign of someone with nothing better to do. I guess I am to new and wont have that problem for awhile, in fact I have to much to do to even be here. Adios
