I do NOT think the supporting nation should get any of the tax revenue. The reasons for support could vary. For instance, maybe two medium sized nations could support each other in two different ports. A small nation could support a large one perhaps for a sum of gold. Or maybe for promise of protection of some sort. Or maybe the larger nation just threathens them to get their support.

I agree with SHM. Support nation should get full port benefits according to there nation ranks.
And a 1/4th tax income from supporting and helping the population grow long as they stay within agreement terms. This will help other nations grow and open up new governments to add diversity to the game making nation missions more possible to do.

+ 1, but only on the bonuses, a quarter of the income is way too much, especially if you have more than one nation supporting you. Bonuses are plenty, especially if your nation is peaceful and supports more than one country-you get the bonus at more ports

Very interesting. I really like the idea of a nation's citizens voting to donate all their influence in a specific port to another nation. It MUST be a vote though, this sort of thing would affect all members of the nation so a vote seems fair.

But if the donating nation gets the trade good bonus then it would get confusing for a new player to understand why a port's flag belongs to one nation but someone from another nation is getting the trade bonus.
