View ships in Private Marina? (Small)

The risk of pulling a ship out of the marina to level it up and put it back is incredibly tiny and all but non-existent. The player would have to cast spy network just after you pull it out, to know the ship is not in the Marina. The chances are remote.

I see no issue for why MC and EJ can't be allowed to be cast on Ships in Marinas. I don't see its restriction serving as any other purpose than being a turn burner.

However, I don't see a good enough reason to change it.

If mc and ej can be cast the sabo and levi should be the same. Private marina is designed so it can only be touched when out of the marinas hands. It wouldnt be a marina with this, it would be a private shipwright instead.

The issue i see is that its not balanced that ej and mc can hit the ship in the marina of its owner but nobody can counter it at all. Its unbalanced at its tip. If you want to upgrade it then do so all at once instead of putting it in and back and in and back one at a time etc etc.

Mc and ej would be stronger than their counterparts based on this fact alone

A player does not need a spy network to see if it is out. Rotten cargo the ship and when the cast succeeds it is out and sailing. voodoo should not be able to find something that is put away in a private marina. Same with the case of ej and mc

I can pull the ship out, cast the voodoo, and put it back before anyone would notice it was out of the Marina. It doesn't do anything at this point but burn turns.

Additionally, it is a private Marina. I should be able to make updates to my ship in my Marina. I can see why it should be allowed for MC and EJ.

However, I don't necessarily see a need to change it.

I see where you guys are getting at. I just dont believe it would be balanced for one counterpart to be stronger than the other. A ship loses a level in a fleet or drydock and gains one in a fleet or drydock and should stay that way for balancing.

It would be useful but i feel it would exploit the idea that somebody could not stop the other player from upgrading their ship no matter the circumstances

It doesn't exploit it. As I said I can do the same task, pull the ship out, upgrade it, and have it back in the Marina before anyone would be able to do anything. The chance of a player being able to hit the ship in that exact moment is beyond small.

Im all for upgrading in the marina but casting is not on my point. Perhaps you can only cast on the ship out of marina but upgrade it with gold within the marina? The only part that is stopping me is tbe fact that ej and mc can be used on something that isnt sailing and levi and sabo cant do the same task.

I could do with being able to upgrade a ship in marina and allocation like you could with any ship out of marina

I just dont believe voodoo should tie in with mechanics like that. Ship voodoo should only work on ships out of marina like levi and sabo. I do not mind the idea of upgrading a ship with gold in marina.

Agreed, it's purely a turn burn.
Historically and in reality ships are upgraded in dock, the ability to cast Mc should be a given
Some people are like Slinkies, totally useless but great fun to watch when you push them down the stairs

In a dock. Not a storage unit with a lock on it. Voodoo should not tie in with its function to store the ship or it makes it unbalanced. I wouldnt mind upgrading it as you two said but ej and MC should NOT work on it when it is put away. You are right kang but this isnt considered a dock. Its a marina which may be similar names but in the game have two different functions

I say we approve the ship view-ability in the Marina which is the base of this suggestion. If players want to further discuss the use of Voodoo cards in the Marina, open a separate topic in discussion.
