Export data (Small)

Postby Bigtea47 » Fri May 27, 2016 7:11 am

This would directed to the admin.
I believe me and a lot of other people make and use spreadsheets, to help them make future decisions.
A lot of this data changes very quicky, and can be very time consuming keeping up with everything.

Would it be possible to have like a export button, that we can use to fast and easy save data.
I do not expect anything complicated. Something very easy, and simple to make would suffice. Something that we can easily paste into sheets and then build around it.

For me personally the data that i would need export for would be active ports prices. (Copy and paste doesn't do it justice, it saves a lot of numbers in the same cell and needs to be overwritten anyway)

Also average prices for voodoo cards. I track the voodoo data constantly as i buy and sell them all the time.
Or even possibly have the average price in our voodoo list next to the card name. That can easily be copy pasted.

Thank you :)

What sort of information are you pulling from the active ports data at your excel sheet? Perhaps it would be more handy for all if instead of creating an export tool that few would use, if we created the end tool directly.

For example, we got Travel Calculator which works better than any tool you can build on yourself, because it takes in mind all active modifiers. In the same manner, we can create a tool that will help you much more than exporting and updating an excel file.

We just need to know the kind of tools you are after in detail.

BigTea is most likely pulling the Buy/Sell prices from each port as i think a few of us do.

Use them to calculate a lot of things to do with trade and route planning, best routes for different ship types, best routes for different trade strategies, it would need a travel calculator combined with the port buy/sell prices so all profits could be seen in one location quickly.

Also, don't know about Your Travel calculator, reckon mine might be better ;).

As Shaydo said i use the sell/ buy prices to calculate different thing for trade routes (http://tinyurl.com/BigteaTrade)
In terms of voodoo i constantly trade voodoo so i like to keep track of the prices going up/ down and the value of voodoo i have (Also in the same sheet)
At the moment the fastest way to get the prices is to click on each voodoo individually and get the average price, then move to the next one. Which is very time consuming.
If there was a export button that can get me all the voodoo average prices would be very nice.
