I have been experiencing a problem with the forums ever since I changed my profile picture.

At first, the forums just showed my previous picture. Naturally, I just assumed that it needed some time to update. But then something strange started happening. My profile picture stopped showing up at all, and was instead replaced with the words "user avatar" and a very small icon. Other players see my regular avatar with no problems, but I can not! Here is a screenshot of what it looks like to me:



Upon right-clicking the words and clicking "open image in new tab", I am brought to this page:



The url that I am being sent to is https://s2.piratesglory.com/images/play ... 663857.png but my pfp url is https://s2.piratesglory.com/images/play ... 739832.png

Why is the forum system trying to use the wrong image for my avatar? And why is this only happening for me? (Other people can see my pfp in the forums as far as I can tell).

Has anyone else ever had this problem, and if so how did you fix it?

Change your in-game avatar again and see if it updates.

When I click the link you posted it brings me to the same "page does not exist" thing as above. I've changed my avatar in game already and it hasn't helped.

Clear your temporary internet files.

I just cleared my cache, history, and cookies. It appears the problem is still there. I don't think it is my computer because it happens on my phone, too.

Not a problem. One of the many responsibilities I'm asked to help with.

If you are not seeing the avatar, than it has to be a you issue, as I can see your old avatar on the forums and from the link without issue.

What browser are you using?

The avatars being different between the game and the forums is likely a sync issue. I still suggest you re-upload a new avatar and see it if takes. I just changed mine to a smiley face and it worked.

Yeah, I guess it must be a me issue. I'm using the latest version of chrome on both my computer and my phone. I'll try uploading a modified version of my current avatar and see if that helps.

I also see the "User avatar" and can't see any photo. There is even this symbol when you do a smile in the messages, it doesn't send a normal smile, it appears a page with a cloud and a green hill.

The image not showing up may not just be him, but it is not a bug per se. The issue is most likely client side. If it was a bug it should show the same for everyone that viewed the link. I suspect a setting within your browsers.

I doubt it would be a browser problem. I've already cleared my cookies and cache, checked to make sure JS was running, and when that didn't work I completely reset my browser. But the problem is still there. Not to mention that the problem also happens on my phone. And if it was a browser setting, why is MY picture the only one that is blocked? I can't speak for Axy, but I can see everyone else's picture and just not mine.

It could very well be a client issue, but if I know anything about computers that doesn't explain why my avatar is being grabbed from a URL that doesn't exist. It SHOULD be the SAME URL as my in-game pic. When I click "open image in new tab" and compare the two URLs, the one I'm being sent to is different than my in-game one. However when I open YOUR image in a new tab, it is the same URL as your in game one.

So maybe not a client-side problem?
