Re-Crewing

I would like to suggest a better and faster way of re-crewing your ships and fleets. For many traders they follow which ever ports or (routes) that is the most profitable each market price updates. Obviously some routes are quicker than others and some are longer. Therefore you would need to adjust your crew so that your travel time is in near 1:00:00 Mark.

If we can re-crew a whole fleet (all five ships in that fleet) at once this would make our work a lot easier.

I believe this feature is needed as it will help not just me but an awful lot of people.

Expansion,

You tell (X) amount of your crew to take extended shore leave? You pay them a fraction of their wage as a retainer so your still paying upkeep, but they'll stay in the port you told them to stay up until you need them again.
This would mean at sea you could set it so your admirals will tell 50 crew to take extended leave in port. Then when you need them again they will rejoin your ship's crew or (x) number of them that you only need.

In theory, you could move crew from one port to another, but be paying a constant retainer, say 1-2 gold a day instead. Or an extra payment For them to move from one port to another.

P.S The Expansion is Shaydo's Idea.

I would love to see something like this. It is tedious and expensive to fire/re-hire crew when switching trade routes. To expand on this, I would suggest being able to group as trade armada or whatever term you want to use and make changes over multiple fleets running the same route. perhaps the introduction of another officer class? unlocked in missions? that would allow you to select 5/10/20? fleets, drop down menu, shore leave 65 crew per ship? or change trade route, set sail with XX# sailors?

I don't believe you have to change the crew number in all your ships. If you leave 100 crew in all your ships then hire/fire crew in the last ship then that ship should slow down the fleet to the appropriate speed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This works for now.

For the future, we have another suggestion that could work better for this purpose:
viewtopic.php?p=4692#p4692

What is going to be implemented before this, is mass update of the ship crews in a fleet or SIMILAR fleets. You will be able to "TEAM" your fleets. Then mass actions will applied across all ships in the fleets that are in the same team. It will be possible to change all your 200 ships crew numbers with a few clicks.

TEAM is not a good name, we will use a naval term which I am not aware of, right now.

Nope that isn't really the case. First, Some trips does not require 100 Crew some only requires 35 crews. For example Route A is the most profitable route and this route requires 35 Crew then after the next market update Route B has not become the most profitable route however this route requires 100 Crew max. This is a pretty easy job to do since you can just "Hire man crew in all ships" however what if the next update went back to Route A? you need to decreased your ships crew back to 35.

And Spastic your way that may work for some fleets who has the same attributes and running a route that doesn't require a larger crew change. Also it works better if you change the first ship instead of the last. Also it is best to put your slowest ship first if you can calculate that.

Arrr don't most people have uniform stats on the ships in their fleet and I don't understand what you said. If you need to hire max crew in all its easy. If you need to have 35 crew then lower one ships crew to have 35 crew......

dropping the crew count for speed is one thing, but i like to drop my upkeep as well. just being frugal
