What this game truly needs is money sinks that does nothing but for show.

Something as simple as a bottomless tip jar in the tavern that shows the total tipped and the top 10 tippers.

To owning items that has no use but you keep them permanently and are expensive as heck using gc or fame to buy and showing the top 10 collectors.

Maybe one could just pay to build a monument to one's self. Perhaps with an almost perpetual list of expensive upgrades. Top ten largest and fanciest monument show up on a stat list. A list of all monuments with a link to see the monument and and possible a historical marker to go along with it.
The marker could also be extensively upgraded, perhaps from a name, to a name and phrase, to a remeberance wall, to small museum to large museum.

I suppose you could build a monument to yourself,
Or to someone else.

Ultimately costs a lot and gains you nothing at all except bragging rights.

i would think having a monument of yourself should give some sort of fame boost honestly. As people would pass by and see it and learn of your character.
