New hirable officer types and discussion

Witch doctor - can be hired to do damage to various players with voodoo. Starting price to purchase is 2,500 gold coins and increases after each purchase at the same percentage that admirals increase at.


Formula for witch doctor:
(3w/4W) x 10 = x/2% of 100
w is your number of witch doctors
W is number of enemy witch doctors
x’s outcome after finishing formula is the percent chance of witch doctor unsuccessfully casting the desired voodoo and the same equation also decides the chance of backfiring when dividing x a 2nd time. Ex: you have 135 witch doctors and thhe enemy has 50. You have a 40.5% chance of failing the casts. You then have a 20.25% chance for the voodoo to target you.

Each witch doctor can cast a max of 2 curses in a single session.

Witch doctors are located at your hideout port. If you dont have a hideout, they are located at your preferred port (selectable in court when talking to governor.) However if you have a hideout they HAVE to be there with it.

Witch doctors consume warehouse materials to cast curses and turns as well. Costs are not going to be discussed as i need your guys input on current put out first.

Assassin - assassinates enemy officers for a price of creds and/or gold depending on the targets desired for assassination. Starts at a price of 3000 and increases at same rate that an admiral increases at.


Formula for assassin:
a/12(A +O) x 1000 = x% of 100
a is your number of assassins selected for the mission.
O is enemy number of targets selected.
x is the chance that assignment for assassination will succeed with no problems. If chance is not achieved, half of your assassins are killed rounded up. If number is 33 and your chance fails, 17 assassins die and 16 return.
A is total assassins the enemy has.

Your assassins are not located at a specific port like the witch doctor is.

A voodoo card already exists for assassinating other player's officers, called Assassin. And you don't have to worry about losing your own officers when using it.

The point if this was to replace the voodoo. Assassins were typically hired like mercenaries of a sort. They werent summoned by voodoo magic.

The game relies too much on voodoo and therefore causes many problems. This is to escape that or at least make a step toward it

The idea of having different types of officer is interesting, anyway. CJ mentioned some time ago the possibility that fishing fleets could need a Fisherman Officer.

I don't think the witch doctor officer is the answer, though

There could be better ideas, but this one feels like a shallow sea.
