Every port gets a default port size of 5,000 acres.
This size will be available for Estates, Port Buildings and Housing for population.
All these are features that will be added in time.


Every port gets a regional vicinity of 25,000 acres.
This size will be available for Plantations/Industries.
Governors will be the first to utilize these numbers with rent to Plantation Owners.


Players/Nations will be able to increase these sizes through Port Buildings. All increases will be final.
A size of 10,000 acres for port and 50,000 acres for vicinity (for a grand total of 60,000 acres) should be considered the maximum capacity.

These numbers are realistic.

I thought it was mentioned previously, but my assumption would be why couldn't they.

Possible scenario but 2 plantations will not be enough for a whole port.

Why not? Is there a limitation on the number of acres a plantation can be?

Although, to be perfectly accurate here; there will be no real limits. If you want to run 1 or 2 mega plantations and keep all the production on two people, it will be perfectly possible to try however it might not be as rewarding.

to understand what I am saying, picture a HUGE plantation of 25000 acres versus 25 plantations of 1000 acres each. Which will be easier to run? A plantation of 1000 acres or one of 25000 acres? And even if you manage it, as the top guru of plantations, still productivity cannot be the same. It has to be -realistically- worse.

This is why King and Governors, will be pushed by reality, to allow more to create plantations at their ports. Of course, there will be turmoil, trial and error and nothing can be taken for granted. By all means, you should explore it to its fullest and take a pit against the AI to how great you can run your plantation. There will be plenty of statistics to track your efforts out.

In the end, who knows, perhaps your 10k acres plantation might perform better than 10 plantations of 1k each, just because you are expertised and competitive and the rest aren't. As a result, these are questions that will be answered by the actual gameplay.

As game devs, we do not intend to put hidden hard limits. All will flow around realism with predefined factors that will act on common sense.
