NPC/Interface responses - Mini-Suggestions

Ahoy everyone,

Similarly to the mini suggestions topic, this one will be used to record your mini suggestions to improve the roleplay side of this game. We are looking for any input that could make the game more fun in-game and also promote RP.

Here are two examples:
-Right now, if you try to meet the Chamberlain as a Pirate (the link will not show to you though), the Chamberlain will lose his temper and send you out/ This is an RP element that targets in the few players that will reach there, to get some spontaneous unexpected entertainment. This could be improved though, with the Chamberlain to have different reactions in case the port is under Pirates control.

-Similarly, if you try to list #2 as an Enemy of the Crown, you will not be able to, but you will also get a response why...

Such events are plentiful and we have increased their frequency later. You can ask for more personalized responses where some already exist or suggest responses whereas they do not.

Anything else related to rp mini requests can also be listed here.

I'd like to see the nation of Nature be implemented around more. I have truthfully forgot about it, but looked at the hostility report after defeating sea monsters and remembered it. Maybe casting certain voodoo should also raise hosility with nature? Like if you Call the Kraken, the ship's wood and iron would pollute the sea...

This may be too much, but as much as pirates worshipped the sea...

Uhhhhhh....no. Pirates did not worship the sea, unless you mean "really liked" or "loved" then you're right.

Probably use an update to the Meet the Daughter/Son interactions. I think that once you have met the daughter/son in a port, having unfettered access to them, no matter what is unrealistic. Maybe add in some new variables.

Like you can be rejected from seeing them, if you haven't seen them in a while or their mood is not favorable.

Or adding the chance that going to see another daughter/son could result in being rejected access by spouse or a reduction in spousal mood/romance.

A rejection to see them would cost turns as if you hadn't snuck in before. Maybe include a condition if you have less than 2 turns, you wouldn't be able to visit daughter/son regardless of relationship status.

I think this would add some interesting interactions from the game.

Btw, keep them coming without expecting feedback. Once a bunch is amassed, this is when we will read through and implement. Which means; the more, the merrier.

The romance needs an update in the future but it is not that small of a task. Currently, if you hold a high rank at your country and your country holds this port, you get instant access to the Daughter room. This has been around since start but I doubt many are aware of this as it is quite rare for this to happen.

More rp options and randomness are also needed.

There have also been some ideas in the past where daughters, and not only your wife, will have further uses.

Another thing we want to do, is to allow in-game marriages between players. So instead of being married to the daughter of the Governor of Tortuga, you would be married to another player or even a fictitious character (how many thousand daughters this Tortuga guy has after all?).

All these are ideas that require a bigger update that now. I suppose we can couple this with some more random events in the game (during trade/battle/etc) and create a major feature. In this way, it will have more chances to make it into the game.

So, if anyone feels up to create a suggestion/discussion around this, where he will gather all interesting ideas and combine it into a structured suggestion, be my guest.

Not necessarily an NPC update, but for the RP what about adding the ability to RP on Port Battles. Add commentary.

Maybe Player can click on the battle and see a detailed, but redacted (remove ID numbers or other non-public information) report that can be commented on in a RP manner.

Would be nice if every now and then it is the daughter/son contacting you. Could be your wife/husband, to tell you something (like "remember me" or "don't get a flu while sailing" or even "look at Vaasburg-Regis, I think it is profitable") or could be one of the others, jealous or flirticious.

Also, I'm kind of stubborn and I renew this old suggestion as it goes in the direction of adding more rpg: Port missions

I'm thinking of this. But this is a suggestion and of course it is debatable (for example how many missions daily would there could be?)
