The plague of witch doctors continues

So the other night I chose to light up an unguilded player with a few fleets. He took offense to that and, in typical fashion as of late, became a witch doctor casting black deaths against the UK.

1) He is a spineless coward for becoming a witch doctor

2) He is a spineless coward for attacking a nation for the actions of one player.

I gotta say, I am pretty disgusted with the player base for this new movement of players a) going witch doctor b) players involving nations in player vrs player actions.

I am also pretty disappointed with admin as this point that despite the ongoing concern of the community at large that there is no effort to address this poison. I understand that voodoo purchases is the straw that stirs their drink but without a happy, growing player base there will be no drink to stir. Something has to change or people are going to continue walking away.

So...what the problem with going witch doctor? And what does the admins have to do with this?

Admins are the only one that can truly enact change.

What's wrong with it? It's a spineless tactic that poisons the entire game and turns players off.

The problem is toxic gameplay. You cannot do anything to them yet they can do everything to you. Nothing good comes of them

Ok, thanks for clarifying it.

I would fine with the tactic if there was a counter to it. Like more ships = more resistance to them. A single curse shouldn't affect 30 fleets the exact same way it could affect 300 fleets. Realistically, it would require more voodoo to hit more ships, but it still requires 3 fugi to affact 30-14k fleets the same equally...which isnt realistic

I think we should put a lot less weight on voodoo, ships should be more feared than voodoo.

Agreed, been saying a switch from voodoo to ships is needed for some time now.

Toxic play is getting worse as time passes. More and more players will leave and the few things that separates pg from other games which have been stated several times recently, the community and equal footing, will no longer be real.

Voodoo curse cards I believe were put into play to facilitate naval combat. Now, it dominates and stifles conflict due to its power. It is out of balance.

Many suggestions have been made, discussed and left to gather dust in the forums.

This issue does need addressed, and the community here is one of the most creative I have seen.

Let us help the devs find that viable solution - dig back thru the forums, debate, discuss and create a solution.

Cast voodoo from ships? Double/triple turns needed to cast voodoo? Perhaps a shaman is needed to cast curses, and he must be paid...daily and per curse - paid in gold coin, or credits or gold bars?
These are just a few of the ideas I have seen....I am certain there are more.

Let us find a solution to toxic play...
