Live Global Events you would fancy

Hi all,

We are working on an idea that involves a global + private event list. This will be something that will be refreshed very frequently with new elements, based on the area of interest for each player. It will be LIVE, which means events will be generated the moment they will happen. We will also add the ability to scroll back and see all older entries.

The position of this, can be either at the bottom of the page, or at the left hand menu, below the MAIN menu. The bottom might sound weird but it can be very handy for such an events list. We will analyse what seems best for the final choice.

We also intend to give each player the ability to pick his area of interests, so only events that he would like to see will appear there. So what we seek here, is a list of interests. I will give some and I would like to hear any ideas you might have.

Do note that eventually, BIG EVENTS, will also make their way into the Newspaper (future feature which will include both automatic and manual feeds).

Here is the list so far:
-Player last joined
-Battle of a guildmate
-Guild Diplomacy (when implemented - ie we are now allied with Pirate Kings)
-Nations Diplomacy (when implemented - ie we are now at WAR with England!)
-Guild log entries (for those who have the permissions; this includes anything currently mentioned in the guild log)
-Voodoo casted on a guildmate
-Promotions of guildmates

Perhaps subscriptions to port events, who could be:
-Battles on Port
-Gossip on Port (This has to be excluded due to the high volume of traffic)
-Port population fluctuation (ie Caspian population has been reduced by 123,134 !)
-Port Influence fluctuation (ie Falkland Islands influence has risen in Tortuga by 134,564!)
-Stock fluctuations due to voodoo or natural disasters.

Port subscriptions will be limited most probably for performance reasons. So if one use enables them, he will see events on the port he currently is + one or two more of his choice (Let's say you always need to know what is going on in Tortuga, therefore you select it as your primary port of interest. Then no matter in which port you will be, your feed will be always populated by port events of Tortuga).
