Problems affecting lasting players

I am gonna be bold here and just say that the game lacks real objectives and a proper teaching.

No story
The game lacks story that can be played with simple dialogs to give you quest from time to time again. This means after doing the "tutorial" the game offers, you are free to do whatever you want. I ended up just building up things with no real goal in mind on why I am building up. Mostly just to get more money to get more voodoo to fight those who attack me or I hate. Becoming more like a idle game, with voodoo fights in between.

No proper teaching to new players
The "tutorial" the game offered me at the start didn't really help. I did end up doing them, and they do teach you things. But a few of the newer players that I know of that stayed on the game all told me that they don't really know how the game works even after doing the tutorial, they have no know how on how voodoo worked, and didn't know the ways to make money. I had the same problem at the start, can't say the same for others. Whenever I had problems back then, without the help of the guilds teaching. Most people can't really go and decide to play solo, or loner like most other games would allow. Even when you have problems the game just tells you to go to the help forum and ask. And at that time, I don't even know where the help forum is.

This two things are important things that usually contributed to why people usually don't play the game anymore. People not having a clue to how to play, or having nothing to do after the tutorial.

Now, don't go and say, that the new players just gotta git gud or some sh*t. This is both problems that are quite clear a problem to me that made the players usually leaving the game. This problems are also contributed due to the fact that the game doesn't make things clear on quite a lot of things, voodoo description that lacks real details on it's certain effects, how ship damage are calculated...and stuff.

Many training guilds have guides. If all would be willing to combine their guides to create an ultimate training manual that would be officially implemented in the game, it would surely help newer players or those who are too shy to join a guild

Interesting topic title. The problem as I see it boils down to data availability. The data exists, for the most part, but it is spread throughout guilds, help section, and the forums. Searching for the information can be difficult and time consuming even if you have an idea of what you are looking for.

The solution is data consolidation which I have suggested via a Pirate's Glory Wiki.

It means what it said, problems that stop new players from becoming lasting.

A few people that I know already left the game due to first reason, tho, it's more uncommon than the second reason.

When I started 5 years ago, I almost quit the game in the first week because I couldn’t make sense of it. Luckily when I decided to actually ask questions, I found many willing to answer and give guidance including CDV, Spastic, SHM and Black Sparrow. The game is definitely different than normal games and requires a different approach than your normal games. That is part of its appeal

I guess it boils down to information drive and what they are looking for.
I have had several people i game with come and go refusing to play at all after an hour.
I think in this technologically driven society most gamers have grown accustomed to graphics and mundane routine.
You buy the newest game great graphics great storyline and its beat in a week a waste of 60 bucks and another 8 months to a year for the sequel.
If the huge multi-billion corporations cannot keep a storyline going I think its unfair to expect a storyline that continues at the rate it would need to expand in a game such as this.
Missions here are as you see them.
CDV does not have a storyline he just wants his name in certain spots and plays accordingly.
Shadow does not have a storyline to steal all those mows (dont tell him that he wont believe you he hears voices you know) its a personal goal that isnt even on the charts for acknowledgment.
If you are not having fun you are playing it wrong.
I had plenty of guides to read in HELM but without the experience gained through playing it was just words.
Interest is needed before information is but thats just my opinion however combined information is never wrong or without merit maybe you should be the one gathering them and putting them in one spot it may be what you seek or not lol. :beer

Welp, I'm sure a guide would be useful but some guilds are not or may not be willing to share their guides. I know Fox, for one, will most likely not,
