was the last mention of Tidal Wave in the Changelog. However, there has been a change that players are affected by. I, for one, would like to know how Tidal Wave chooses it's source for ships. Certainly I am not the only involuntary donor. Will it target ships that are underway or only those sitting? Is there a limit to what class or value of ship can be taken from a player. Why is a game that manufactures voodoo cards not also manufacturing the ships needed for the curse?
I want to know who is getting my ships. Especially if the ship is of great value.

That is alarming, I thought Tidal Wave only applied to deserted ships whose players have no gold, ie dead accounts. Bad news indeed if it is taking ships from active players

There have been no changes to Tidal Wave. It is totally random and targets ANY ship without crew (sunk or not).
There are always plenty of ships without crew in the game. We monitor the situation, once the number grows thinner, we will also include the last ship of owners into Tidal Wave (commonly newbies who stopped playing - tidal wave does not grab their only ship right now). These are currently excluded but we now have the 1000 gold ship for those that lose them all, so it will not be a problem to incorporate them as well.
In fact this will also help our databases so I think that we should proceed to this addition immediately.

Now that it is clear, I know to leave crew on my ships that don't sail (until the ones with crew start getting targeted). Thanks. I still think the game should be responsible for taking up the slack.

Exactly. If I had my way, My Admirals and Captains would entrust their one-ship sentry fleets to three pairs of men on rotating shifts so they could be off on trade missions or conquering hearts. As it was, all they used to do is wait for their turns to be taken by a Tidal Wave. Now they just argue between themselves about whether their crew will manage to fend off the power of the ocean.
After having learned what one man can do for a ship in a harbor, I wonder how any of my officers is allowed to stay in control of a ship or fleet. They must be rare powerful men indeed.

Captain Jack, I have been talking to other players and there seams to be a difference in the way the Tidal Wave is used. Please explain it so a salty old rum swiller can understand.
Does the ships that one plunders and then sells back to the game go into the Wave Pool?
Does a players ships that are crewed and running trade get taken if I stop playing for a short while?
Will the ships I leave crewed and sitting idle and not useing for trade get taken. Even though I have other ships involved in trade?
If we plunder inactive players ships, will that result in a lack of inventory to the Tidal Wave Pool?
Just a few questions I and some other players have had in conversation and would like you to clear up if you will please. That way no one goes around half cocked so to say.
Also, off topic, when will there be a way to become an active member of the council of Govenors or become a Govenor of our own ports? If we have the influence and the port carries our flag we should be able to elect the counsil and or be called the Govenor.
Thank you for your time.
Respectfully,
SGT Blue
