				New Attribute to players: Trust

				Pirates will have a trust factor of Zero.
Trust is relative to:
1. How many trade routes you have.
2. How many successful deliveries you make. (reduce when you lose shipment in an attack).
As trust level increase, your overall market advantage increase allowing you to buy at -1 cost and sell at +1 cost for every XXX trust points.

				Interesting - it would work very well with my contract shipping idea,  
However do you not think this will make it even harder for new players to get established in the game.
If this were implemented I would suggest the alternate be applied
Terror -
The less ships and routes you have the more battles you win
better chance to beat evade in skirmish

				Terror would be too close to the piracy tech though. You have many attack technologies but not as much for trade.

Getting like the other Merchants I see, ah well... Guess you will be taught a lesson.
-1, it only helps out those with a vast array of Vessels. This is how Da Vinci and such players would own the stage.

Your suggestion has nothing to do with a Tech though, it has to do with game playstyle
If you wish to balance piracy tech, I suggest if should be in the form of a Tech.  However we already have 
officer contracts, storage contracts and warehouse tycoon so I don't really know if merchants are at that much of a tech disadvantage

More like attempting to balance technology and features out. It is only a suggestion.

Oh no, I do not care about the features; merely those that oppose to be peoples masters...They end up betraying them by clearing voodoo off there enemy's.

Well ok then, what happens next will be your own doing. Regarding your bullshit about 'attacks' in Suggestions, I think not. Pirates get attacked with negative comments on the forums all the time.
