Pirates Port Benefits

Im thinking to give some different benefits for owning and controlling a port for pirates. Current benefits not that great and wont show the pirates differences. After all pirates not like nations so benefits should be also different.

It is considered a special rank. You are given certain bonuses in Pirate controlled ports:
*Recruitment does not require influence
*Recruitment is free of charge.
*Cannons are free of charge.

Pirates dont have much ships. Even if they have these benefits for owning a port too low for even call it bonuses.

My suggestions:

1-) Skirmish and Plunder profits will be increase by %5 in controlled ports(Need high rank to achieve similar like duke bonus total 9 will get that bonus based on influence and ranks if they get ranks:) ).

2-) Skirmish and Plunders will return 1% of total plundered gc value as influence for a pirate attacking within a controlled port.

3-)Skirmish will cost 2 turns instead of 4 in pirate controlled port.

4-) In controlled ports %10 chance a skirmish will not cost any skirmish points.


This is officially my first suggestion topic. Maybe you wont like this suggestion but for further suggestions the reason of dislike will be helpful to me.

After some researchs I balanced the bonuses and also added some more tweaks.

well i read the implemented approved and disapproved suggestions but couldnt see. I guess i missed.

Very fine first suggestion post sir! You should seek feedback from a pirate like Charles Vane or a Merc like Haron. They will give some sound advice here.

Not enough balance. This would make any pirate port insanely OP...

Add a plunder bonus game wide in ADDITION to the already 20% booster suggested? No.

Also, the whole concept of the pirates in this game is to not band together, and do what pleases yourself the most.

Pirates only banded together when literally everyone who sailed under a national banner didn't want to deal with pirates.

In terms of pirate improvements why not just give them a a series of missions like the rank missions, but have them use to terms related to infamy (Scallywag, Scoundrel... etc.) Instead of an actual title like baron or duke...

Then you can give the same bonuses you would get for that rank in another nation...

Thanks to your comments and advices. I made a lot of researches and get lots of feedbacks. As a result i tuned my suggestions rates and add some tweaks. Im waiting your ideas about this suggestions. if possible with pros and cons. your comments really important for me.

"Then you can give the same bonuses you would get for that rank in another nation..." about that the current bonuses like recruitment costs trade incomes not suit for pirates gameplay.
Currently Piracy system doesnt fit the rank up system like nations. No ruler no laws no tax payments no boundries. And im not suggesting for them to act like nations. This is about golds and profits its not getting unity its getting profits.

If pirates are going to band together, they are going to do it as a "Nation" as that is how you hold a port in this game. As they are a "Nation", if you want to add bonuses to them, the use of ranks/titles (although different) like every other nation is the way to do it.
