Ship For Market Att Re-allocation

Can ships that are put to market have the attributes Refurbished ?

When I purchase a ship from the market from certifiable ship sellers, sometimes I get a ship with a clean slate to where I assign attributes and sometimes I get a ship where I must remodel, depending on if the ship is a capture/sell or a new build.
Any used ship dealer worth his salt should be able to clean up ships he sells and make the attributes available to redistribution by its new owner so the new owner does not need to purchase / use remodel and can reassign the available atts to their preference. Of course selling ships with cannon and crew should also be up to the retailer if he chooses to include or not.

I cannot see a shipbuilder being able to abuse this feature of att reallocation as it only applies to ships going to market and not any captured ship he may choose to keep unless he wants to put it through the market process.

quite a few ships on the market at a good price, but I will not buy them because I don't like the way they are attributed.
once a remodel is used the price would no longer be a good one. This would solve that issue.

It sounds too convenient, especially by the time we got a card for it.

I never use the ship market for buying. In my opinion, everyone buying ships right now are getting terribly ripped off.

A level 10 SoTL going for 100 credits at these prices is insane.

I fear it has a too high chance of abuse. If I don't like the setup, I can sell my ship to a friend, who can then sell it back to me, and voila! I've saved myself a remodel card...

good point, although you are not supposed to use the market that way

In my opinion, the main problem is that the combat system is "secret". That causes some weird setups. If the combat system was published, ships would have more proper setups. I like everyone to have access to the rules of the games I play.

Having said that, people may have different opinions about setups even with known rules. I think the "remodel" card should not be rare. That makes it too expensive.

yes attributes are a personal choice - what you might find perfect, I might find useless and to be honest depending on how the ship is intended to be used, we might both be setting the ship up correctly.

i thought about re-allocation a way back. part of simplifying the ship market so that a different kind of ship auction would become possible; one where you add your ship(s) to a pool of similar ships and buyers can buy multiple ships of the same type/level in one go. The Att relocation was a major obstacle.

Refitting for different performance is a major undertaking. often it's easier to build a new ship than to rebuild an old one.

refitting a ship can be done by putting her as tail on a bait fleet so it will lose levels, or by voodoo; both expensive.

however, the development of a special pirates only tech, one that allows for Att relocation/erasing on captured ships only could be a nice game addition. the higher the tech the more Att points can be erased/reallocated.
