Guild Based Raids - NPC Boss!

My idea comes from many other RPG games out there where your guild fights together to take down a BOSS. I am suggesting a similar something here.

I would like to suggest that we put in NPC Guild Missions to Unlock a Boss. All in guild can contribute, the more you do the better prizes you receive.
I really like Slindur's suggestion of "waves" where as you progress the Bosses get harder. I am trying to think how this looks. Currently in my mind it would be set up similar to how Nation Missions are set up, but all in guild would be able to complete the tasks at hand. Once a wave is completed the Guildmaster/Leader can choose to open the next wave (additional setting needed in guild rank set up for this feature). Team work is suggested as everyone will be using turns to defeat waves. Best to share the load
ROUGH DRAFT -
- Wave 1 Guild Must Defeat 50 NPCs and 10 Pirate Hunters
- Wave 2 Guild Must Defeat Sea Monster 7,500 HP's (admin to adjust HP's for NPC Bosses based on how dmg works)
- Wave 3 Guild Must Defeat a "Lesser Kraken" 10,000 HP's
-Wave 4 Guild Must Defeat "Henry Morgan and his band of pirates" (possible 10-15 ships, hard)
-Wave 5 Guild Must defeat "Lesser Leviathan" 20,000 HP's
-Wave 6 Guild Must defeat "Spanish Armada" (possible 20-30 Ships)
- Wave 7 Guild Must defeat "Kraken" 30,000 HP's
We can have how ever many "Waves" admin deems necessary to unlock the Boss, and can be made up of any NPC. Furthermore, once you complete the last wave you will unlock the BOSS, which will be a Leviathan 50,000 HP's
These waves and the Leviathan will be very tough and expect to lose many times. YOU WILL NOT GAIN DANGER WHEN ATTACKING A NPC BOSS. Also, just like fighting Henry Morgan in nation missions, sink chance rules apply on your tail ships. Buffing voodoo for your ships is ok, but no voodoo on NPCs will work.
Unlocking - I would suggest that guilds can only do the Missions and a Boss once per month (Timing of event should be reevaluated after the first couple of guilds run it though and adjustments are made.)
- Rewards per wave - I suggest a guild based reward per wave completed, but don't have ideas to what. Perhaps psycodad's idea of a guild based buff for a certain amount of time...? (Edit: Perhaps this could be a way of earning Special Crew and First Mate Battle Experience) viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1778
- Rewards for BOSS - will be tier based and paid out by how much DMG was dealt on the BOSS
Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Then 4-10, 10-15, 15-20, 20-end.
Prizes I think right now would consist of Gold Coin, Free pull on a voodoo pack or 2, certain sought after voodoo cards (Master Craftsmen, Expedition Journey), etc...
Pros that I can think of with a feature like this:
* More guild interaction, more excitement
* More game competitiveness as everyone will want to take down the creature/boss the most (perhaps a leader board is needed here: Top 10 Most DMG done to Leviathan)
* Guild Set up - You won't want to be in a guild by yourself as it would take a long hard time to get through missions yourself. Furthermore, you may not want to be in a guild with 45 people as there might be to much competition and your prizes will lag if you are in the bottom. I would think people would want to be in guilds of 10-15 to take advantage of better prizes. This could lead to more guild diversity.
* Bigger Ships sailing the seas!!. Of course since this is DMG based, this will make larger Capital Ships more valuable again. We will see those 60 point SOLT and MOW sailing again!!. You don't gain danger when doing raids, but the ships will be out of the marina and vulnerable to pirate attack. This would add more action and strategy in the game.
* An "almost" risk free option for our traders.
* Battle strategy
*Game support in form of turn purchases. Raiding will take a fair amount of turns. I could see someone buying turns to be a leader for some good prizes. This could turn out to more credits purchased which in turn helps support the game and admins, which is always nice! They do a great job and I for one don't mind spending a few bucks here and there.
- Special Guild Achievements would be displayed for all to see. "The Brethren just took down a Leviathan"
- Updates in the Avonmora Hearld
Once implemented I could see more items that could aid in this in the future. Ship Specialization comes to mind. There could be something in that upgrade that gives a buff to certain big ships to deal increased damage to Sea Monsters (another use for Harpoons perhaps). Witch Hut could also perhaps have a voodoo to aid in hunting these creatures. Or New Tech the gives a dmg buff per level of research against NPC monsters. (1.05, 1.1, etc). At level 20 it gives you 2x dmg. Just spit balling here.
A raid on another game I play, takes my guild of 25 about 24 hours to defeat. A raid on the AAT Tank takes the same 25, 3 days to finish. I would think we could do something similar here time wise for our Kraken and Leviathan. It should not be easy, but rewards should be good enough to invest the turns needed.
