maximum port storage

Postby Bmw » Sat Jun 25, 2016 8:48 pm

everyone has a warehouse but what about the ports it seems like there's 2 billion plus of the resource that the port makes stored there there should be a maximum storage the port can have based on population of the port i think it would be a good idea and would make the game more life like you cant have infinite storage of anything in one city or in one port.

i personally think this would add a new feature to trading because the ports with low population if they have high trade could use up all of there stored resources and then there would end up being nothing to trade there you could still bring in stuff but you could int take it out because there would int be any to trade.

this would add a whole new aspect to trading it would make people watch the port supplies and would encourage people to invest into the ports for other then just a nation capturing a port.

if this has been talked about before just reply with a link to the thread.

sorry about the grammar mistakes i wrote this quickly because im running out of time.

Its an ongoing issue and there are historic threads on it : simply put, the production metric filled every port long ago for the simple reason there has never been enough trade to fully consume the daily production. Messing with that would, I assume, mess up the pricing metric. Whatever, a number of 'natural events' were proposed which would act to destroy large amounts of the goods currently stacked up in ports : we still await such calamities as earthquakes, droughts and Justin Bieber concerts.

well if it was based on population it would balance its self out if someone ran out of materials to trade with then they would invest to increase the max population and considering how large the stock piles are there really needs to be a good way to limit them to usable piles

You can create a 2 Billions warehouse and then buy all the goods in your warehouse. I am sure then Cpt Jack will find a way to fill it back as productions has reportedly stopped.

A potential problem is the cost, but you can go for a cheap resource.

Code: Select all
Total Cost for 1,999 levels is  1,199,400,000
Warehouse Capacity at Level 2,000 will be Crates 1,999,500

8B more to buy the resources (cotton, at cheapest price) and you are done.

Tied with Skyhawk at forum posts now..... the countdown has started...
