Ahoy all,

Skirmish event is nearing its end (13 hours left). A good time to start a discussion to get your feedback on it. You liked it? Yes or No and why?
Perhaps also investigate any ideas you might have for different special events.

Ahoy There Administrator,

In my opinion ~ The two Skirmish Events were very good, it gave Pirates a chance to have a extra " Pick me up " sort to speak , meaning a extra feature which the pirate side of the game seems to lack beneficially without any Voodoo Cards or knowledge of the game... So Yes I did like it... Or if you are a new player, you can get 128,000 gold coins at the beginning : If the person is smart,of course! Depends on different port and resource! But either way quite a substantial amount for a new player...

Yet, In another way I did not like it - It gave pirates a chance to rob us poor Merchants off up to 48k gc per fleet skirmished of course, times that by 5... 240k, quite A lot... I personally think, a event for Merchants should be on, at the same time as a event for Pirates - That can also be used as a suggestion...Or if you have A LOT of enemies, you can loose A LOT per day, if you have just been wiped out, and need gold coins to rebuilt - It is not good for you... So lets say you make 480k a day... Trading at Vaasburg with tools, each skirmish is... 24k normally, 48k now... 3 hits is over 100k... So the true profit is only 380k a day..

Now the suggestions:
- A 10% Trading profit event - Where lets say you get 20% trading extra from Dutch Indian and your nation owning a port, then for 3 days ( Preferably when Market resets ) So that COULD be , i repeat COULD be 30% extra...
- Have one event for Merchants , and a event for Pirates on at the same time... As then It would not be favoring one side, lets say double gold coins event is on at the same time as the 10% trading profit... that would be fair...

Just my opinion,
Sir Roberts

Personally, I loved it. Hah'
Even players that weren't full pirates could have made profit out of it, more events like these should happen in the future.

Plus, Sir Roberts here got a point, Merchants should have "their own event", one that even not fully-merchants could have profit out of it.

(sorry for any grammar mistakes, sometimes I assassinate english language, heh')

Hmm.. Sir Roberts, you do realize that the extra gold coins of the event weren't out of the merchant pocket? They were coming from the game pocket. So, if a cargo was worth 20k, then the attacker would get 40k but the defender would still lose 20k.

Don't worry about the language Wazz, you perfectly made clear what you wanted to say. Welcome to the forums too ;)

The doubling of Skirmish GC seemed to spark more activity against my trade fleets. One guild member took in over 600k through skirmish so I think what you might have been trying to achieve was successful if more skirmish was the goal.

I too had more targets to hunt down and extract recompense for skirmishes which I enjoyed so all in all, a profitable venture for everyone.

I think that it was a successful event as well. It was fun and was a good incentive to get some fun in and mix it up more. I thought that a nice effect of it was a lot more action on the raid boards aside from skirmishes as the danger ratings raised up above 3.

While not much of a trader myself, I think that the idea for an event geared for merchants is a good idea as well. I did really like the idea of pirate and merchant events going simultaneously to increase the fun and engagement for everyone during the set amount of time.

How about an event for fishermen? Maybe the chance to catch a mermaid that offers special powers to those that possess her? Or a sushi festival that makes the fish market price increase by a percentage. Or a TV show called "Fishing From Frigates", if featured on the show you get a million gc per episode. Ok, that last one was over the top...
