[No Bug] 'last hour' bug

Its something I have noticed over time : that some voodoo seems to stop working in the last hour : most obvious is Treasure Fleet, if your fleet has danger on it (above 2), it keeps running with a TF on : but in the last hour before it expires, the fleet will auto-stop : a nuisance but no great trauma in that. Now, having been NPC farming to pass the time some, while its quiet on the seas, I notice that Coastal Piracy and Patrol also seem to stop adding their bonus in their last hour too. Pacifism seems to have kept running, however the fame and prize money drop back to 'normal' levels even tho the voodoo is still shown as active for another 20+minutes (as just happened).

I dunno why this should be so, and why it has affected coastal piracy and patrol, but not pacifism, or why Treasure Fleet also seems bugged in the same way. Its hard to judge if other voodoo has the same thing happening as seeing the effects of trade bonus cards (Indies, etc), or favourable winds and such, as each fleet trades on arrival or sets off again is not easily done.

Could there be some check made on this?

This does not sound possible. What matters is if the voodoo is active or not. So,let's exclude the general problem as a start.

You say you noticed it in Treasure Fleet, Coastal Piracy and Coastal Patrol. I will assume that your observations are correct and we will run some tests. Once we got something certain, I will come back to you.

Regarding Treasure Fleet voodoo, this is an expected feature to prevent getting an extra danger point. If there is an hour left and the fleet has 2 danger, then it assumes that it is better to stay safe at port till danger drops at 1. This could be solved by an engine upgrade where it will take in mind the trip time before making the decision. It is doable and I have noted this improvement for a future release.

Regarding patrol, we tried to reproduce it with no luck. It seems like improbable.

Here are a few points to consider to troubleshoot:
-Make sure enchantment is active.
-Make sure you are in the same port as voodoo - when on Patrol.
-Pay attention to fleet type to compare rewards.
-Write down the figures that appear like problematic and post them here so we can verify the issue.

You know, troubleshooting can be boring.

Aye, it can be : with the TF, the explanation is close to what I had assumed, and no probs with it.

I'll watch out for it in future and grab some more data : alas, I tend to let turns build up while the hit fleet is trading, then pause it for a session of NPC hits before sending back out again : that doesnt always time right for hits inside the last hour : this time it did, which is why I spotted the issue.

This is what I got so far ;

Patrol to find more NPC fleets. (Each patrol costs 2 turns)

Pacifism seems to have worked okay : as does Patrol : but Piracy seems well off the usual amounts for such fleets : I'd expect merchants fleets to be well into the 10-12k range if not higher : and convoys into the 6k range.. as for 776gc for a pirate hunter....

gets worse : cleared the hunter, patrolled again, got these 3 magnificent opportunities :

edit : just a thought : is plunder from NPC farming in any way affected by the number of ships you own?

Yes... the more ships you have, the bigger the NPC plunder and ship types/fleets get tougher to defeat as well. Let me run a test and confirm.

I thought of this since the first reply. However, we do not reveal info ourselves for NPC/ PVE features but this is the reason I asked for details on the fleets.

This comes to verify that using the forums is beneficial to game knowledge ;)
