Hi i'm new to this game. I need some help. I lost a ship due to plunder, but I only have a single ship throughout the game. Is there something I'm not aware of? Here's a link to the battle: http://s2.piratesglory.com/share.php?id ... c98834eeb9

T55th (#41451) engaged Squad 7 (#42212) in the vicinity of Psaral at 2014-03-03 03:38:28

Moonlight Dancer (99 HP) VERSUS F9S3 (1350 HP)

Round: 1
The heavy cannons of Moonlight Dancer fire strongly against F9S3!
Fire spreads on the sails of F9S3 for 5.4 points of damage.
(Cannons fired: 6 Cannons Missed: 5)
F9S3 has 1344.6 hitpoints left.

A blazing light comes forth from F9S3 and makes Moonlight Dancer crew temporaliry blind!
F9S3 hits for 150.08 points of damage and part of the Moonlight Dancer crew ABANDON the ship! WATER FLOODS the main deck and it seems that the end is near!
(Cannons fired: 30 Cannons Missed: 10)
F9S3 crew watches Moonlight Dancer as it slowly is sunk into the sea.

F9S3 Wins
Your ship Moonlight Dancer (Sloop) has been plundered by the savage Delt (#16704) after you could not pay for its ransom!

Your fame decreased by 1,759!

Help.. And btw am I no longer 'newbie-protected''?

How much gold did you have before the attack?

Edit: If you can't remember, how much gold did you have after the attack?

If you don't have enough gold to pay the ship's ransom your attacker will take your ship to use as his own. Read this page: http://s2.piratesglory.com/?page=help&action=plunder <-- the section titled "-What I earn from plunder ?" talks about ship ransom.

If you had a cutter, howker or sloop then your ransom would be 10% of the base cost (build cost) which is 1,000 gold (plus a little extra for the 1%-5% gold). So 500 gold would not be enough to pay for the ransom and your ship will be taken. If you had about 600 more gold then your would have paid the ~1,018 gold and kept the ship.

While you have less than 5 fleets I would recommend at least 30,000 gold so that you have enough gold to buy resources for your trade ships and also pay for ransoms if you get danger and get plundered. As you get more fleets you will want to keep more gold cash for buying goods and in case pirates attack.

i can't possibly forfeit the ship since i only had a single ship ( i read the 'How plunder works' post)..so does this mean that my ship was sunk in the battle? then how do i earn gold without the means to, since my only ship was sunk in the battle? sheesh

The ship has been PLUNDERED. It is different from getting sunk.

The single ship plunder protection has been removed since
-1.2.63 (2013-10-08 16:47:52)
-Removed protection to last player's ship.

To get a new ship,
Click on Market -> Shipwright -> And you will get a new ship (Cutter) for 1000 gold coins.

If you cannot afford it, either sell crates from your stock, or ask for help from players or work as a porter.

I had a similar case, but vice versa. I attacked a SoW lv7 thrice
First I emptied their treasury

Second I am ready to get the SoW and attacked them twice but got 0 gold instead

I think they're no longer in newbie protection, which is proven by the attacks.

Are you sure you haven't been under protection then as well? Or it might have been before the single ship plunder protection removal?
