I like the no auto-fill, "if" king fails to appoint, the nation should be in line to elect. However the king should also be able to remove a governor from office if his contract is up, no vote required.

Nations have kings and are thus monarchy's, they should be able to choose their supporters and close council. Perhaps nation diplomacy can bring in laws for democracy, republics etc but for now the king rules.

I agree. End of contract should be instant. My only additional point would be for governors mid contract. A king should be able to remove one mid contract; however, as a king can change day to day, nothing would get done if the new kings swapped governors constantly. Stability is a necessity. Removal mid contract should require a vote, or the King must be king for multiple consecutive days to initiate a removal.

I like it. That coupled with contracts being renewed in the last 7-10 days will give the stability needed.

  • All produced goods will be either sold automatically to the port at the port price - 3 (-2 for cotton) or they will be stored to the player's warehouse.
  • Once stored in warehouse, you will no longer be able to sell it to the port so this decision must be made in the plantation management. You will be able to change this anytime.
  • If a user warehouse is filled, production will be sold to the port instead.
  • If both fill up, production will stop.

Would party cards be possible to use in a port you store your plantation productions in?

No. So instead of buying Tabacco at a Tabacco port, this will allow you to "Produce" Tabacoo at that port. Whether you buy it or produce it, you still have to "transport" it to another port. There you can use a party card.

Thank you, brain must have been on vacation. I overlooked the fact one would be producing in a port that "sells" the resources making party cards inoperable there. :$

This is a potential issue as we already have more than this amount of Veterans (as Player Awards prove). Competition will be fierce for a while so we might need to add a few new ports eventually, once the number grows more. About 21 new perhaps on an expanded map perhaps. That's merely an early thought. Although, I remember that more ports is something that has been suggested before.

You make the assumption that all 'veteran' players have an interest in being a king or governor of a port-owning nation. More than a few of us have tasted that bitter brew and decided its not worth the coin spent nor tears shed. Creating yet another gold sink linked to port ownership is not going to attract me back into that fray, the current sink-holes are well deep enough.

Perhaps if you were to require the Approval of the Monarch of a Port holding country prior to embarking on a Nation's Mission there would be more security

This would block some game play that I think doesn't need to be blocked. :chest

Currently, as you know, the NPC King gets to define what is req'd for national advancement. Hopefully the update will allow some input from the live, human King so nation promotions can fall in line with the direction the nation's citizens have chosen.
