Natsu Dragneel wrote:I disagree with voodoo being removed. there would have to be a way for the admins to make money, and removing voodoo would kill that. Would also kill the legendary voodoo ideas and would kill party routes and voodoo to assist ship battles, which would make stealing MoW near impossible unless everything had a specific function

Not necessarily impossible. If we take port royal as example it would require grapple shot and chain shots to be implemented with idea of boarding ships it would make stealing ships easier than now it would destroy witch doctor gameplay. Admins still can make money on credits with turns needed for attacking ships can be sold on ship market which requirers credits. Maybe implement credits to be needed when you build ships etc there are plenty ways for admins to earn money

I agree with retaliation aswell and I agree every action has reaction but that doesn't mean that toxic gameplay should be left in the game

NOTE: The side effects and benefits are just brainstormed.

The use of materials to cast:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4147&hilit=Cast+voodoo+from+ships

Benefits: upgrades Official List of Demands, Terrorize, and other warehouse voodoo.
Side effects: Prices of benefitted voodoo skyrockets, especially iron golem. Death poker may drop in price, same with self sacrifice due to materials being required more than the turns themselves.

The use of "Action turns" and "Cast turns"
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4130&p=64913&hilit=Action+turns#p64913
Benefits: Complexity to turns, Easy counter to rapid norm turn build-up, and encourages ship fighting.
Side effects: casting turns become more valuable, increasing prices of death poker, self-sacrifice, time spiral, and turn purchases may have to be re-adjusted.

The idea of a witch doctor class player:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3985&p=60149&hilit=Witch+doctor+gameplay#p60097
This one could be combined with the ships carrying the voodoo, and would make being this witch doctor that much harder.

Benefits: Players have to sacrifice a hell of a lot to become "Witch Doctors" and become very expensive in the long run. Utilizes fame to be a more important variable. Since fame is easily manipulated, can easily drain a Witch Doctor's fame with their low ship count. A lot of restrictions are set in place to become a "Witch Doctor" and those who are big chested and are small players are considered fakes, in which everyone benefits from firing at them for doing the spineless tactic. Introduces backfire, which would damage the witch doc player. The player would have to sacrifice a 10th of their cards to even attempt this, and that is a huge chunk for the big players.
Side effects: At the rank of Witch Doctor, it does make the player very powerful when they reach the final rank of "Witch Doctor", would increase the demand for voodoo cards which means more money to the admins and credit prices would rise if anyone did go for the witch class.

Cannot find where the forum to cast voodoo from ships is, so if anyone could pinpoint it, I will post it here as an edit.

This is what I found so far. If anyone wants to add more forums discussing the issue, please post them :y

That's one way of seeing this and it is valid startegy but that doesn't mean witchdoctor gameplay is not toxic and should be left in the game.

For the record, that is my poll and 35 votes went in the direction i'd hoped. It wasn't voodoo.

True it aggitates me aswell admins are great and they do their best with tools they have. I hate complainings aswell I tried to attack someone and that someone whooped my ass he hit me where it hurts me most. Congrats to them they found weakness and they used it meaning that I need to prepare better for the next time. I will not complain about it and I will not call admins because of it. But I still believe that voodoo should be removed completly or lowered to the point where we know it exists but rarely use it and that ships should be main focus of the game

Removing voodoo completely? That seems like quite an extreme "solution", which would most likely add 2 problems for every 1 it solves.
