Haron, Bangers point is more about current war format in PG. I agree with him. Slinging voodoo around is boring, but that is what this game has evolved into.

I agree with your point. War is a means to a specific end, but the current mechanics of it is quite boring.

I assume you are stating this in regards to the current situation. If that is the case, then I would love to know how you can continue with your commentary. You guys are insistent that you are winning this war and VUDU completely disagrees from what I understand. This standoff could continue until the end of time to no benefit of either party. Pulpop presented some fuzzy math on how he or anyone in Merc has not spent substantial coin on this endeavor and that Merc is still ahead. That is the biggest load of Danik's donkey poop I have ever heard. When you breakdown all your trade fleets and cease to make coin while spending coin then you are hemorrhaging coin, granted the same applies to VUDU but there are many other ways to make coin that I think a lot of the turn mule players in Merc are unprepared for such as playing the markets and goldsmithing.

In regards to the OP, depending on how this develops it could be really cool. If it is somehow tied to a guild pvp system where you can square off with ships, perhaps even multiple people in a battle, then that would be a real positive in my book.

You are very wrong about the current situation - we are still making coin. Can't tell you the details, of course.

And yes, it can go on until "the end of time". Without a real possibility for that, the threat is not sufficient. There has to be a real threat that trade fleets may, in fact, never again sail.

Also, as the war is far from over, I cannot comment too much on what may be done and what the consequences may be.

Both sides can spout off about who is "winning" but that is a completely useless endeavor. There is no real way to score a war in current game set up.

Cost v. Gain, final objectives, all these things depend on what each individual values most. In the end there are no winners in the current game setup simply because there can be no winners or losers. This game is not set up for winners or losers.

There are only players.

I should have the rough draft posted today.

Please move any current vudu merc talk to the Union of Honor thread.

This idea will not be like how wars are now. It will take almost all focus off of voodoo and put it where it belongs. Ships and strategy.

Now this idea will still be limited by current game mechanics and ship set ups but I am hoping that ship specialization will come soon. If so this idea will be hugely better and I hope a lot more strategy.
