Some of the listed reasons, but one that is not listed.

I mainly don't like it because voodoo oversimplifies interesting ideas, and does so in a way that makes it very hard for f2p players. Examples:

Pirating (Anything above skirmishing)
Influence Wars (Consists of 3 cards)
Pirate Defense (Mindbar)

Voodoo should be supplementary, not the only way to take part in engaging parts of the game..

Some voodoo I appreciate:

Fleet damagers - It is possible to beat any fleet by attacking with a stronger one, but this provides another way to do it in ADDITION to the norm. Enhancing solid game features, rather then creating a new, one dimensional one.

Pirate tales - I can steal fame by attacking players, but this is another 'cheap' way.

Consider romantic ventures. I can romance all the governors daughters, but if I use necklaces and rings it is easier and faster. This is fair for paying players. Imagine though if that was the only way to romance them... That is sort of how it is for beginning f2P pirates and potential noblemen.

I especially do not like legendary voodoo, because as player you will naturally acquire voodoo you need to do certain things (like remodel, or trade master) but this is not the case with the witch hut. The stronger the voodoo, the more disadvantaged new and f2p players are.

Edit: A think an established f2p trader would be alright, but this is Pirates Glory dammit

you are wrong here it is not Pirates Glory it is Voodoo Glory... overall I agree with your points of view...

I am not going to get all bent out of shape because I do or do not like the witch doctor craft shop. Like trying new food, I don't like it, I spit it out. ;)
The price of voodoo will ensure there is not a lot of these legendary curses flying around.

I want a curse to quietly infect someones skirmish fleet for instance. Kind of a SSTD (ship to ship transmitted disease) that the owner may never notice that he was infected until all of a sudden (gasp) a closer look shows his ships in fleet are 50% damaged and slowly getting worse like a swarm of worms hit it. Not a big money curse or kill everything in its wake type of curse but something that falls within guidelines

I cannot do this in the witch hut without it going to tribunal, advisory board, acceptance board then final approval by CJ.
Damn it... I want a simple curse that acts much like a swarm of worms only the guy who hit my infected ship would never know he was infected unless he noticed his repairs needed getting worse and I don't want to pay exorbitant price for it.

This is not a bad thing but I really have no interest in any of these 'super curses" that get bandied about costing millions of GC that can destroy the world with 1 cast and a years savings.

As it looks now, I will have a choice of some good voodoo ideas (20) but I'm not spending big money to build a voodoo vending machine that spits out pre-made curses. Perhaps I will have occasion to need something it offers but I shall wait to see what it ends up offering.

So...for this reason, I wait for the new flavor to be added and then decide if I like it or not. My choice. :respect
