Vane: I don't want players joining "my" nation. That's got nothing to do with this at all. I want to lay a foundation for more interesting gameplay, where nations play a larger part, and every player is either part of a nation of significance - or a pirate. That opens up possibilites for more exciting dynamics within and between nations, I believe.

Then there would also be less people to plunder if your in one of those nations and what if you disagree with how there all run

Then you either:

A) Go pirate
B) Change nation
C) Fight for more influence internally in the nation

See? More action already! :-)

The admins opt for adding features not removing and I am with them 100% on that.

To remove and limit my options would leave me bored and uninterested..

Decreasing nations would be worst move ever it would drive players out of the game, you forget that most players will disagree with it and what if those major players decide to go in same nation and beat the hell out of small players forcing them to quit or even let it go and stop attacking and just doing trades it would ruin the game

Back on the topic few new ports wouldn't give any chances to new nations since most new nations are started by 1 or two players and they can't hold port too long... it is easy to take port over but hardest thing is to keep that port...

Actually, I see the opposite happening. Fewer nations mean stronger nations. A set of few, strong nations make it far less likely that another Barbados will rise, in my opinion.

You see it like that I see it like this... you think that it will cause more fights and more job for you but unfortunantley it won't people who would fight are more than capable doing the job themselves... there are players like tom lowe who likes to be left alone in their nation and having this much nations opens up far more options for new players... what if new USA-Spain war is happening and new player has no choice but to join nation in war and get destroyed we have another new player leaving the game. When I joined game I joined my country and worked twords king position and learning about nations and after that I joined Bermuda out of my free will and I stayed in the game... few players joined their countries after and chose Bermuda after learning about nations I saw aswell player joining the game under bermuda flag when we had war and he got crushed just because he was flying our flag and that player quit the game...
