When I first started playing there were a few issues that made me want to leave.

Issues (Common)

Communication

. When I first started my biggest problem was communication,I am not saying that players don't message you but you have to show a great deal of activity before you are invited to join a guild. When you sign up the game has the "instant chat" bar open with a few players, not all of them are online,if any. Also,if you don't message the players and refresh the page the bar disappears. Thus, new players who just sign up and don't follow the tutorials alot (especially the fame ones) don't get recognised.

. Invitations/Messages~ When I signed up the invitations I was "supposedly" sent did not reach. Until I got to about 500 fame I got an invitation, which I had to visit the "Search for a guild" page to find and accept. Another problem aroused if you use inbox, the invitations instructions are not clear, instead of review application you could have a simple "Accept" or "Decline".

Tutorials

. One word,"Bad", depending on the role that you started with the tutorials actually don't give you the required things to complete them. Gold, resources etc. To be more specific, "Gather Resources in Aiora" this quest for one,if I am new to a game and the action that I required to do takes hours I won't return. That's why I always give away golems to newbs. These types of quest turn away players it's no fun having your one fleet take 24hrs to complete a quest. (What do you think about the future quest?)

Issues (Uncommon)

Guilds

. When a new player signs up and reaches the quest (Join/Create a guild) it shouldn't be there. (Edit it) I don't know where to apply to a guild and when I do they don't accept and the easiest option is to create a guild. After a few days of boredom they leave the game. (No brianer). Players who have:

. Newbie protection
. Less than 20 Ships
. Less than 10k Influence/100k fame

Should not be allowed to create a guild, once any of those are achieved then maybe, just maybe they are ready.(Except, the fame game. )

Game

.As seen, when new players start they signed up for a pirate game (Traders might kill me for this) and they should get one. My earlier suggestion was that newbs have auto generated NPC's fleet in the PvP area(Older players can't attack them). Missions that require attacking players are difficult, especially when you attack a Sotl fleet and wonder how long it will take to beat the others. New players should be given easier missions with the same rules.

. Navigating around the game~ The forums is one place to find friends, apparently in-game everyone is hidden. The fact that a new player only has a few persons if any, to talk to makes the game for them even less fun.

Apparently, the only thing that needs to be changed are the tutorials, better tutorials keep players. Also, make sure that the tutorials are interactive, when players have to associate with other players it makes the game easier.

P.S: I doubt you will understand anything up there.

Agreed or Nah!Sorry for hijacking the thread.

I'm relatively new to the game. The one main thing that me OFF was the battle play. Right about the time when players realize that battle in PG is Nothing more than text and results, I guess, is the point where people quit the game. You can check all the NewB accounts which stagnate at the right fame point.

I want to mention a few people keep low fame to stay out of being noticed so they won't be able to create a guild and I know a few pirates that only carry a few thousand fame and a few hundred influence

I think you can never change the fact people leave without changing the game mechanics entirely. Most games make it so you can sustain and be successful, while others can gain from attacking you, but you lose marginally nothing (like Clash of Clans). In this game, you rely so much on others, being independent is a sort of death wish for merchants and pirates a like. What you can lose during a raid can end you, and force you to go inactive under the heat. This game is intense through thinking, not through visuals.
Just repeat after me: "Czar Ivan did not help me win the elections."

This game has been running for 8 years, yes it will continue.

Best if you join a guild, if you dont have one already.
