I think a great metric would be 'Total number and value of ships captured' : values based on standard ship build/levelup costs as used to determine sale value : would be interesting to compare game styles that way : those who only target high value ships, against those who mince up trade fleets and such, quality versus quantity. An extension metric could be average value of ship captured.

Value of ships is a lotta database stuff.... think of the poor programmers. D:

HOWEVER, the number of ships is more than reasonable... can be directly tied in with successful attacks upon X nation (hostility) AND also the value.... each ship has a different value..... strategy and gc wise.

I did think of the poor code monkeys, slaving in some airless back room... that's why I suggested using standard build cost/upgrade values : base cost of a howker, for example, remains the same for calculation purposes so avoiding working out who built it, what bonuses affected its costs, and so on. But I think the current database links all that to the ship number anyway.

It would be useful in gauging player styles and seeing hard evidence of which do provide most 'bang per buck'

I'm good with Skyhawk's view on archiving this, as long as we open a new updated discussion on personal achievements expansion.
