By port, do you mean the port the hideout is in?

PHX - you say this is a new Technology. Meaning you want to add this to the Academy for research? The way it is described it sounds more like a voodoo.

If it is a new tech for the Academy can you provide a per lvl increase on the items you want to increase.

How does that look?

How I see it is a tech that can be activated once in while. That would be not a bad Idea.

Tech that can be upgraded and activated once in a while would be awesome and a cool idea.

Same to the other games.

I agree that this feels more like voodoo than a tech. As a tech, this would ruin trade completely. Imagine 20 pirates with this tech maxed. Now every fleet in every port has a 40% chance - 20 times - to be caught in someone's trap. That means each fleet will on average be caught in 8 traps.

I think effects like this should be temporary, and come at a one time cost. Which is exactly like voodoo works. So this "trap" would work better as a voodoo card. And if it was, it would be quite similar to the suggested "Pirate's Bay", which lights up every fleet that arrives at a specific port.

How about this - Trap - Voodoo card - you cast on one of your own fleets, x turns invested = y points of danger on your fleet,
when someone attacks your fleet they gain double danger per every attack on that fleet.
