I don't think we will see eye to eye on this.

IMO, I think ship building is due for an overhaul. There are better approaches than what we currently have that can allow us to implement a variety of different aspects into ship building from the get go.
I'm only here for Game Development and Forum Moderation.

How massive ship building can be anyway, when you have a maximum of 600 possible turns?

Current controls should be enough and anything to help this direction should actually add a new element. For example,we have considered a mechanism that constructed ships are listed to the market right away.

Or another idea would be to create the fleet/route and the ships as you want and then the game builds the ships as you want. You will then be able to save/share such plans.

Of course, these are not mentioned in the suggestion which is more like an idea. So this can safely be moved to the archives. There will be time later to either open a new discussion or create a detailed suggestion from scratch, according to needs. After all, this has no luck getting implemented after all, with no details in how the mass build ships will be. So it would be moved to discussion anyway.

For the record, while the Dev Team players are commenting here, anyone can still jump and write their opinion to help the team members decide. This is the point of using the public forums in the first place and not a private one.
