Writing off bad loans

Not sure if this has been discussed previously or not but in a quick search I didn't happen to find anything discussing this. I would like the ability to be able to write bad debt off my books in order to keep my loan screen clear and concise. I have several outstanding loans from players who have quit the game so I know there is no chance of recouping these funds. I think after a certain amount of time you should be able to write these off just as any bank would on a defaulted loan. My ocd can't stand to have these on the list knowing that they are, in effect, dead.

You can end the contract and that removes them from your current loan screen. I had a similar issue and thats how I resolved it. Just open up the loan contract info screen and cancel the offer : that will remove the amounts from your outstanding loans : alas it wont remove the record of the outstanding amounts under the 'loans' tab, which displays every loan you ever issued.

My only comment would be loan insurance. After 30 days of inactivity, the nation treasury will payoff the loan or part of it based on the law. If the nation you belong to doesn't hold a port and doesn't have a reasonable loan insurance, I recommend finding a nation that does, or stop issuing loans.
