Animated Battle

I know admin probably do not have the capacity to implement this but I am also sure all of us thought about it at one point or another.
It would be nice if there is a place where 2 players who are online or at least one online can play and maneuver manually their fleets and crew in a battle simulation.
Imagine seeing 5 ships vs 5 ships battling each other and you control the turning and firing of the ships.
Imagine boarding one of the enemy ships and control your crew attitude?

What about crew getting battle XP and give additional power in future battles

Even though I don't see this implemented. I really like the idea. +1

i've played such a game offline. it had three levels, automated battle, fleet battle and ship battle. you could jump from fleet to ship. it is nice, but it will ruin Pirates Glory as it is now when it would be implemented in the overall game.

however, trying to be constructive, as an extra option i can see it function. a place of the map where you can sail your fleet to. when you enter 'the Arena' you see other fleets. these could be weighted by power so that a fleet of sloops can compete against fleets of relatively similar strength while MOW fleets have worthy opponents as well. how this could work with voodoo in play will be a real headache for the game developer.

Agree and disagree. I love seeing animation and do admit I've wanted to see it here. But that is not this game for it in my mind.

On your point of crew and boarding party and hand to hand combat. I see this as a feature that could/should be added. I think William might be working out an idea... Or at least it was mentioned in a conversation the other night.

I would like to see "Boarding Party" or "Hand to Hand Combat" added when plundering ships take place. Just an idea. But you could then have upgrades like Ships Attibutes but (Weapon, Armor, dexterity, etc).
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

It would be nice to having to control your ships and troops but it would be nice to see animated battles on a playback

I had been considering the concept of crew to crew fighting, or possibly a PVP 1 on 1 type fight, however my concept was not animation action based. It would work similar to plunder screen battle, and would factor chance and crew or player attributes. I was looking at how to create and vary attack strategy, but was not considering any animation. I believe in this game during the time an animation played you could lose a battle or your prey could slip away. If such animations were provided, I would only suggest it to be a replay of a battle, that would be attached as part of the detailed battle report, so that it could be watched later when battle is no longer occurring.

i kinda like the written battle report.
like written dispatches from a naval observer.
still, after a few times, i stopped reading them. been there done it.
i fear that the same would happen with animated replays. fun for three times after that 'same o, same o'.

imo it has to be player controlled battle or become a largely unused addition to the game
