Pirate Lords

Bouncing from nation to nation as I and others do, I would like to suggest a Pirate option for those who wish to pursue only a career as a Pirate. Beyond the whole "person without a country" mystique it greatly hinders players who are Pirates. While the monetary discount is nice, at least a loose alliance of Pirates and the ability to hold a title gained via raiding over trading. While many players enjoy their current nations, being a Pirate should carry a little more benefit in my opinion. Quest and requirements are up to everyone else.


Pirate's Alliance
A chaotic and changing group of the most infamous Pirates in all Avonmora, this group acts as a nation but grants far less benefits, this is due to disorganization and common betrayal among Pirates. While nations enjoy many ranks and titles I would suggest 6 Pirate titles:

Landlubber
The newest and most ambitious among the Pirates. This would grant only the title itself and offer the protection of those who adhere to the Alliance's edicts.

Scalawag
The trained and newly successful among the Pirates. This would grant a trading bonus in Pirate controlled Ports

Seasoned Cur
A local name which traders avoid and port gossips repeat. This would a Repair and Trade bonus in Pirate controlled Ports

Dread Captain
Known in multiple port this person is spoken of in hushed tones, merchant hate them. This would provide a defensive bonus to Pirates in Pirate controlled Ports. It also would provide voting rights, these players would act as Dukes in relation to the current system.

Scoundrel King
Beloved by the masses, hunted by every nation, and the most dangerous person in Avonmora. This rank would be held by a single Pirate, effectively he is their King. It would provide access to a SOTL which allows for additional stacking of attack voodoo for its fleet (Hostile Natives, Fugitive from Justice, Bless, whatever is applicable).

I figure I'd leave the requirements for the up to the other players and Jack to decide.

I like the idea and I think if it was cleaned up and requirements and such were added it would definitely do the job you intended it to do.

Perhaps flying the Jolly Roger could have more perks in the future. But for this specific suggestion

I dont like the idea of pirate ranks personally however i am in favor of port bonuses to pirate controlled ports, such as battle bonuses to battles taken place at a pirate port.

This suggestion is a -1 from me

Pirates definitely need some perks. There is a more recent suggestion from I think William One Eye that is a more comprehensive look on pirate titles. But even with that I'm not entirely set on a structured pirate "nation". Pirate titles/achievements should be independent from any set structure of ranking and based on something like game stats accrued as a pirate. This is a discussion that definitely needs to take place, but this suggestion is far from what is needed.
