Port action. Currently only flags as a capture.

Using nation laws perhaps players could vote to signal a port sale or port gift.

Perhaps these would require a treaty.

Both sides would need to vote to activate,
Similar to a treaty.
This could also be cancelled.

When a port changes hands under one of these conditions. Global events shows gift or sale instead of capture.

Port action merge. To nations in alliance status,
Could vote to signal merge status.
As ports change hands it shows merge.

Can be set as one nation merging into another.
Or two nation merging into a thrid.

What's wrong in using the forums for this? Why a signal needs to be scripted? You now have in-game forums for each port too.

If you look at global events from a historical stand point it would be nice to see if the transition was peaceful or aggression.

This also means to have a transition marked as peaceful council would have to vote to show this was the majority choice of the nation.

This is a suggestion for an optional law used by nations that choose to do so.
Default with no law voted in it would just flag as it does now.
