I may not get good reviews on this and this may include somewhat milking and pushing but hear this out as an idea for a retirement idea. This is designed at players who will NEVER come back when they leave as this empties the player out completely. If the player ever wishes to return to the game, they will be given a redemption code that they can enter as their password sent from the server system. They will be prompted to make a new account, however half credits they had at the time of retirement will be sent to the new account.
The viking burial is where the Norse would put the dead on a ship and the ship would have been set aflame. Maybe we can incorporate this into the game?
You may only initiate a viking burial after spending at least 365 days in PG, and must have at least 10 achievements including a top helper award. The exception to the top helper inclusion is if you have at least 15 achievements, 4 of which are battles won and total battles, 1 of which is a kingship of a nation which controlled a port at least 3 days in a row, 1 is hideout, 1 is fame achievement that must exceed 25,000,000 fame, 1 of ships plundered, 3 are kingships of any nation, and 1 of which being a skirmish achievement. If you have at least 3 top helper awards, then you are excluded from the 10 and 15 achievement criteria.
I had an idea where the player would set a viking burial and a global event would be issued as, for example, “Clockwork has begun a Viking Burial!” Here at this time there will be a countdown of 24 hours. When the countdown reaches 0, the player’s voodoo chest highest card count ever achieved will be recorded in the biography and the biography will open up. The voodoo chest will then be distributed completely and evenly to every active player in the playerbase (this counts as anyone who logs in 1 time every 7 days.) If the card chest is smaller than the number in the playerbase, it will be distrubuted to the active players who log in at least every 2 days.
The gold on hand will be evenly distributed to every active player. If gold on hand is less than active player count, the gold is taken by the game instead. Any gold in banks is randomly buried across the map x the amount of bank accounts used. For example: if i had 3 accounts with 40m each, there would be 3 treasures buried in the game with 40m in each hole. If account number exceeds 21 accounts, combine the smallest accounts until 21 accounts are reached and bury the gold randomly. If all accounts are equal sized and exceed 21 accounts, combine until reaching 21 accounts total and bury (the gold can overexceed the account maximum hold for the purpose of burying the gold.)
All ships of that player are lit up onto the boards for everyone to plunder up and steal. All fleets are given 99% damage and all have 90 danger. This 90 will not deplete by top of the hour for 24 hours after the burial light up begins. Any ships in the private marina are taken out and are put into fleets alone per ship in marina. Ex: i have 20 in marina so 20 fleets with 1 ship each are created. Ships on the market hosted by the buried player are also put into fleets by themselves.
The player will then have his/her name engraved on the hall of retirement board which will be found in a tab in global events labelled “Buried Players.” Each player will have a spoiler tab which when clicked, will reveal highest influence ever achieved, highest card count in chest achieved, any words or final says that were said in the global event for the viking burial announcement, most expensive ships ever stolen, best ship to ever sail, flagship and her name, forum topics made with hyperlinks to the 1st page of the forum they made, biography, guild names formed in the past, most profitable fleet ever, longest ship ever kept from others taking, achievements from ingame, most gold ever held in possession of the player (bank, on hand, and buried), most ships ever possessed, and top gross value of ships ever owned, as well as most top helper votes ever achieved.
What do you guys think of it overall? Just a thought that came to mind when thinking of players who will leave and won’t come back and how they will be remembered in history of PG. Eventually history will be forgotten or at least faded where it will be difficult to look so i wanted to make sure that if you want to be remembered in PG, that a viking burial can be done.
