Rewards for fame top 10
Each week the game provides 10 rewards. The top 10 fame owners can choose one reward each (top 1 chooses first and the runner up has 9 rewards left to choose from etc.)
With this suggestion I hope to add value to the official success measurement and to create a bit more PVP interaction.
The rewards should be attractive to the various play styles, for that reason I let the winners chose from the available rewards. What these rewards could be is to be decided. I can imagine packs of specific voodoo (e.g. 10 charities) or 3 booster packets or simply 50 credits or an experimental legendary card, or MOW collector points (get 100 points and you win a MOW att60) or …

Until the fame model is fixed, this Top Ten will be tremendously biased against active fighters with fewer than 50 ships : the reason being simply that if they light their fleets attacking, they get excessively penalised with ridiculously high fame loss on any return fire. Thus its going to be pretty impossible for any pirate or active privateer to get into the Top Ten.

i am aware of this. in my voodoo-fame suggestion i hope to balance that a bit

That is a little lopsided, unless you mean top 10 fame earners each week. And even with that, that can be lopsided.

I would suggest a fame earned via plunder only, with a minimum amount earned to qualify for a prize.

your response is similar to Daniks. since the fame system doesn't work properly it has little significance in the game.
at the moment the system favors traders, your suggestion goes the fighter way.
i hope to find a neutral Fame system, hence my voodoo-fame suggestion .
i mean the true top 10! Fame can be attacked :)
Make the rewards attractive enough and we will see a fame readjustment happening.

I appreciate that : but the current fame won/lost in battle is so out of kilter for small fleet owners, no amount of voodoo casting will make up for it : example : steal 5 ships and gain a few 10k of fame : lose 2 return hits : lose 100k's of fame... thats not made up, its happened to me countless times : my record is over 800k fame lost on one single hit. While the battle fame model is as it is, any top ten can and will only reward large fleet merchants and those who DONT fight.

Dont get me wrong, I like the idea of a Top Ten : but it has to mean something to the whole player-base and include them all.

i cannot find where i made a suggestion to allocate fame points to ships captured based on their base value. but that would help restore the balance as well.
i suggest something like 1.0% base value is suitable fame reward for ship capturing. these fame points should come from the player who lost his ship. When the player has not sufficient fame, he loses the fame he had and 'the game' add up to a total of 0.5% of the ships base value.

Indeed, I have long argued for relative fleet strengths to play a role in fame gain/loss : currently it makes no difference if you steal a MoW with a Sow or steal a SoW with a MoW : what does make the greatest difference is simply how many ships each side has.

Initially, I had lots of issues with how Fame was awarded in this game. However, I soon realised that Fame was of very little importance, and so stopped bothering about this.

If fame is to get more importance, for instance in the form of rewards, this will change. I then think the Fame system would have to be completely remade. In a game like this, I think a "rating" is very difficult to make meaningful. Personally, I have a feeling that leaving Fame with little importance, as it has today, may be the best solution.
