Pirate Bonuses

Stealing ideas from a few of the first posts on the "Pirate Flagship" post. I honestly don't see much need for a separate boat.

But, I do propose the renewal of a few ideas. As well as a few of my own.

    1. All pirates have 5+ attributes on all their ships. If the ship they own is put on ship market, the attributes on that ship are cleared and -5. If a pirate switches nations, all their fleets get their attributes reset and -5.

    2. All pirates gain a 2% extra plunder value on anyone from a nation (paid by player). In other words, the bonus plunder goes from 1%-3% to 3%-5%.

    3. Pirates cannot have any ship fully levi'd.

    4. Pirates with 100+ ships do not gain these benefits.

1. Bad idea. This would make stolen ships less valuable when sold on the market. So it's actually a disadvantage, not an advantage.

2. Yes. More plunder is exactly what a pirate needs. And taken from target's purse. Not long ago a similar idea was discussed by Captain Jack, but with a very unfortunate addition of a reduced maximum in the plunder value. I think something like this is what pirates need.

3. Well, I have to agree with Vane on this one: WAY to OP. Makes it virtually impossible to steal any ship, since your tail cannot be levied. Makes it possible to use 4 MoWs and 1 cutter for plunder.

4. No particular opinion about this one yet.

1. it isn't exactly about Ship market lol. It is about defeating other ships. And as well if you read more into it; it said that when a ship was put on ship market by a pirate, it loses the 5 bonus attributes and get's an auto Remodel cast on it.

3. A pirate can, but people can still levi their MoW making that a really terrible idea. As well, let us ask what does this suggestion leed to? Less fear of getting defleeted after a raid meaning pirates use some one tail instead of two; that is an extra war ship in a fleet! + the bonus attributes = more raids because the amount of turns needed for krakens or fire ships is reduced.

1. Well, if it's just the extra 5 atts that "disappear", then it's not that bad (I read it as those disappear and then ANOTHER 5 atts disappear). Still unneccessary, though - getting 5 extra atts is not that valuable (and I like to sell those 60 att ships without them being degraded first...).

3. Maybe. And maybe not. I can think of several ways this can be exploited. Way too powerful.

You don't lose an extra 5 lol. You just lose your bonus when sold on the ship market. And if you had a 60 attribute, it was really a 55 attribute then by this bonus.

3. Explain how it can be exploited. I see it lets a pirate carry more ships in one fleet === more raids due to less turns needed on ship weakening voodoo.

The most obvious use of the Levi protection is that tail ships can't be sunk with Levis. This allows pirates to use much stronger fleets, since he doesn't need to fear his tail being sunk and his valuable ships stolen. There's a reason why some people use 3 frigates + 2 cutters as plunder fleets.

Yes, the valuable ships can still be attacked by Leviathans, costing the pirate money. But it will cost the one attacking him even more; call Levi is a very expensive card. Currently more expensive than Expedition Journey, for instance, which repairs the damage of one Levi. Also by just damaging the pirate's ships by Levis, the attacker doesn't get anything back. By sinking the pirate's tail and stealing his other ships, an attacker would get at least SOME of the values back.

It would make it much safer for pirates to use strong fleets. Forget keeping a SoL as an escort on your trade fleets; the pirate's combat fleet will have no trouble defeating that if his fleets are protected in this manner.

Well, isn't stronger fleets what is needed for a pirate?

And btw, I have never viewed or even heard of a pirate who reasonably protected his war fleets being defleeted lol. People levi to get revenge on the pirate, not to defleet him. Being able to levi a pirate's tail to level 1 may not be that OP as well; if they got a ton of danger, you can hope that one of your 40 strikes may hit the sink chance atleast once of them and defleet them (if the pirate keeps 1 tail).

Why with the bonuses for roles, we should be allowed to just go and play whatever. A pirate flag with 200 ships? Sure why not. Just, whatever you know?
