The Ruby jewelry cards...

I would venture to say that the average man would not appreciate a gift like these from our wife/lovers (except possibly to re-gift to one of the others). I would like to propose that the gifts not specify a jewelry so much as it's intent such as "Romantic Gesture" to replace the name "Ruby Ring" and "Extravagant Gift" to replace "Ruby Necklace". I believe this will aid in eliminating some awkwardness for the adventurous female pirates who have shown their worth to us and who deserve not to be made uncomfortable by a seemingly male oriented feature of the game. Thanks for your consideration of this issue.

Or "A Ruby" and "Ruby Jewellery", as male pirates wear jewellery or hoard it at least.

JR's idea is alright. giving actual gems that can be converted to money at the person's discretion is more practical, and it works whether the recipient is male of female. Since the "Ruby Ring" is a common card, it stands to reason that they are a dime a dozen and would not be that big a gift to keep forever etc. etc.. :) I don't think the Governor or relative would have a piratey tendency to hoard things though ...

as for the ruby necklace, maybe it can be changed into a "ruby brooch". women can wear it, and males at the time wears cravats that also require a pin to decorate it ^^

I keep getting the roles wrong :? , I must remember I am in respectable company at the Governor's residence. Suppose I'd better take that silver cake slice out of my seaboot and put it back on the table before someone notices.

Any takers for "Ruby Pin" and "Ruby Clasp" as non-gender-specific gift items?

Ask for objections instead :D then if people don't really care either way we'd have 0 objections and 100% agreement

really? o.o maybe we can change it from "Ruby Ring" to "Priceless Ring". It will be open for interpretation whether it's diamond, ruby, or just cubic zirconia

agree with the Ruby Clasp idea to replace the necklace :D
