A man of war can have a minimum of 40 guns. When in battle more guns are put all over and that makes it to 80-110.A man of war with 80 guns can do as much damage as one with 100.It does matter, guns and crew are important.Soon the MOW will be an unwanted ships of history.

define your terms : what do you mean by 'man-of-war' ? If its a historical reference to a specific type of vessel, then what era and nation : for things like gun count (and size) changed enormously over the general period in which this game is set : as an example the Royal Navy 'Ship-of-the Line' slowly grew from a fairly standard 50-60 gun vessel to one of a 80-90 gun vessel by the early Napoleonic era. A handful, such as HMS Victory, were 100-gun ships.

I consider the 'man-of-war' in this game to be a generic category ; for all large warships were 'men-of-war' : we take it to mean the very largest and most powerful class in the game.

Who cares?

Out of experience the best place for a MoW is a hideout now , it is just a pirate attract-or. From my own personal history from having more then one MoW...

A 'man of war' was ANY large warship : the British called their largest warships 'Ships of the Line'.

You are taking the epitome of wooden warship construction, the 100 gun 1st rate ship of the line, of which the British never had more than 7 in service and only then in the very late 1700's, and making it some sort of standard for all its 'men of war'. The 'workhorse' of the Royal Navy was the '3rd and 4th rate' SotL's of some 40-60 guns. The big 'power' battleships were the 2nd raters of 70-80 guns : Also, dont confuse total guns carried with the number of main ''big guns' in the 'broadside' : It became the practice to include all guns in the count, including short-range close-quarter guns mounted on the upper decks, and the bow- and stern-chasers : also, the overall size and length (thus range, accuracy and power) of the main guns developed over time, making a late-era frigate as powerful as an early era SotL, even though the latter may have carried 'more' guns.

If we are going to get pedantic over this kind of thing, then a sotl certainly needs more than 250 crew to sail and fight the ship. A usual crew was between 500-800 men, of which some 300-400 were needed just to serve the guns in battle... but I doubt there would be much call for that level of realism come daily upkeep time....

and, just for interest : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiRbJRNKyv8

According to the RN guy who ran that recreation of a rolling broadside ; they used less powder than a single original gun would have used for one shot... scary.

-1 Disapprove

I don't see the need to change the number of cannons on a MoW.
