I don't know if this has been brought up before. What about a officer or building that allows you to know what are the chances of winning a battle.

I'm on the fence with this idea. It would be useful for yourself to attack others. But... I have lost count the number of times others have thought they could beat my fleets and then find out the hard way that they are stacked.

I'm unsure of this.
I think going into the unknown during a battle is a good thing. When you battle a player, you don't know what techs they have or voodoo active (in most cases), or the attributes on their ships. That's what makes it interesting. I've won and lost battles, where the outcome was unexpected. I don't think we should clue into the potential outcomes.

I say discussion as more detail is needed and more player input for this

A player should know their capabilities before they attack. If they attack and fail it is on them. There is even voodoo that can aid in winning a battle by making your fleets stronger.

-1, disapprove. I think there should always be some unknown to the exact results of a battle.
